This would be Captain John Laboyteaux (ca 1740-1780) who died on the frigate, Aurora during the Revolutionary War. John married Hannah Smith, who with the children were apparently living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the time John was killed and a son also aboard the Aurora was taken prisoner.

Note that Thomas Pearsall of New York City was named as executor of the estate. Some have named Hannah's maiden name as PEARSALL. Thomas Pearsall is said to have had a sister Hannah Pearsall. Some genealogies indicate that this Hannah died young. At the present it is not known if perhaps Hannah was Hannah Pearsall who married John Laboyteaux and perhaps died young; or Hannah Smith who married John Laboyteaux; or Hannah (Pearsall) Smith, who was perhaps a widow when John married her. The marriage record indicates that John Laboyteaux married "Hannah Smith," and with the son named Samuel Smith Laboyteaux, we assume at this time that his wife at time of death was Hannah (Smith) Laboyteaux. ash

Roeloff SEBRING was the 2nd husband of Agnes Constance LE BRUN, widow of Gabriel LE BOITEAUX / LABOYTEAUX (1652-1734).
Gabriel married (1) Marquise FLEURIAU & (2) Agnes Constance LE BRUN. ash

Paul LABOYTEAUX (b 1699), s/o Gabriel LE BOITEAUX / LABOYTEAUX (1652-1734) & (2) Agnes Constance LE BRUN, married Elizabeth SMOCK whose father is given as Matthias H. SMOCK. Hendrick SMOCK is said to have been Elizabeth's brother, children of Matthyse Hendrickse SMOCK and Elizabeth STEVENS. Peter Laboyteaux was probably Paul's brother. ash

Beth writes:
"He [Hendrick] accompanied Matthyse Hendrickse Smock and Elizabeth Stevens when Matthyse and Elizabeth relocated in 1718 and came to reside in Piscataway, Middlesex County, New Jersey. He appeared on the census of 1726 in Piscataway. He witnessed the probate of the estate of Gertrude Smock on 8 December 1738 (her brother, Hendrick, was administrator of the will). He witnessed the will of Charles Fontaine on 1 March 1742/43 in Somerset County, New Jersey. (Mentions that Jan Smock is the wife of his sister Lea.) He left a will on 29 November 1746 (identifies Hendrick as a farmer, names wife Antje, children Elizabeth, Hendrick, Dennis and Ann, all under age but Elizabeth, mentions a home farm of 131 acres in Bound Brook, and names wife Antje as sole executric."
