Biographical Sketch:
DAVID VERNON LECKLIDER
DAVID VERNON LECKLIDER, s/o Jacob C. LECKLIDER and Mary Nancy ESHLEMAN, was born 23 July 1837. In 1860 he resided with the MARTIN family. David married 1861 to Mary E. CREAGER (1841-1888), dau/o Michael CREAGER and Mary HOSIER. David and Mary were the parents of four children: Alice M. (1862-1863), Charles E. (b 1865), Ulysses Grant (b 1867), and William H. (b 1871). Mary (CREAGER) LECKLIDER died 03 August 1888 probably in Darke County, Ohio. David V. LECKLIDER married 7 February 1896 to Mary Emma DAHLING or CAN(N)AN, widow of H. M. REITH. Emma is given in the 1900 Census of Darke Co., OH as the mother of 8 children of which 5 were living. In 1900 and 1910 there were CANNON grandchildren living with David & Emma. David died 13 September 1916 at 79y 1m 20d.

He was buried 16 September 1916 at the East Zion Cemetery next to the church in Gettysburg, Darke County, Ohio.
