His great-grandfather's brothers, Frank HOSINGER and Nicholas HOSINGER, immigrated in 1868 & 1869 to the U.S.A. Their sister, Madeleine (nee HOSINGER) PATZ, widow, & her four children immigrated to U.S.A.; resided 1880 with the Frank HOSINGER family in Fanwood, Union County, NJ. Another daughter of Frank HOSINGER and Albertina SCHUMACHER was Wilhelmina "Minnie" HOSINGER, single (1878- after 1940). Wilhelmina (burial place unknown) resided with her sister, Anna (nee HOSINGER) HAND.]

  • HAND, Stephen and his family appear to have been members of the Scotch Plains Baptist Church. This stone appears to represent the family's attendance. Stephen, born abt. 1734 probably in Westfield Twp., Essex Co. (now Union Co.,), NJ, is said to have been a brickmaker and s/o Nehemiah HAND and Lydia [--?--]. He is said to have married abt. 1750 to (1) Eve [--?--] and they were the parents of Isaac, Jesse, and Samuel. He married 28 Oct 1764 Presbyterian Church in Westfield, New Jersey, Union Co., NJ to (2) Mary MORGAN (Marriages: Commemorative History of the Presbyterian Church in Westfield, New Jersey 1728-1928), and they were the parents of: Enoch, Andrew, Hannah, Abigail, Jane [married John Baker, bro/o Thomas], Lewis, Lydia [married Thomas Baker (bro/o John)], Mary, Phebe, Nathan, Sarah, & Stephen. He lastly married 26 Dec 1782 Westfield, Union Co., NJ to (3) Prudence MOSS. Their children are given as Nehemiah, Oliver, John Meeker, Ezra, Betsey, Peggy, James, and J. Smith Hand.
