ELIZABETH "BETSEY" ROLL was the daughter of James ROLL (s/o Brooks ROLL) and Catherine "Caty" DUNHAM. She married David M. DUNHAM, a "waggonmaker" of Craneville (now Cranford, NJ) according to 1850 Federal Census. David M. DUNHAM, s/o Joseph DUNHAM & Elizabeth MUNDAY, wagonmaker from Cranesville, NJ, was the husband of Elizabeth 'Betsey' ROLL. David was killed by an Erie Railroad train on September 1, 1863 somewhere between Forestburgh and Port Jervis, NY. He was buried in Oakland Valley, NY.

The gravestone located in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield, Union Co., NJ is for Elizabeth "Betsey" (Roll) Dunham; her daughters: Sarah Ann (DUNHAM) LEBER (Dave's great-grandmother) and Mary Elizabeth DUNHAM, who appears to have never married. According to the 1900 Federal Census, David M. DUNHAM & Elizabeth "Betsey" (ROLL) DUNHAM were the parents of 11 children of which 5 were still living in 1900 including Sarah Ann & Elizabeth.
