DALE CALEB7 SHIELDS, second son and second child of Raymond Dale6 (Caleb5, Patrick4, Isaac M.3, Patrick2, Daniel1) Shields and Sarah Margaret Creager, was born at the family home on 22 January 1908 at Beamsville, Richland Township, Darke County, Ohio. The family eventually removed to Miami County, Ohio, where Dale met, courted, and married Rita Marie Margaret Lehmann, daughter of John Lehmann and Mary Catherine Mills. They lived for 10 years in Piqua, Miami County, Ohio; removed to Beaumont, Texas briefly and returned to Piqua temporarily. They relocated in Decatur, Macon County, Illinois for a few years, and finally settled in Anderson, Madison County, Indiana until after retirement. Upon retirement they returned to Piqua, Miami County, Ohio where Dale died. Rita then went to live with her daughter (Karen) and son-in-law in Indianapolis, Indiana until her death. Dale died 1 July 1982 and was buried on 4 July 1982. Both he and Rita are buried at Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua, Miami County, Ohio.

DANIEL SHIELDS was the immigrant ancestor of many of the SHIELDS families and descendants with roots in Butler Co., Preble Co., & Darke Co., Ohio, and perhaps in Virginia. Daniel married Mary [--?--], and they with their children immigrated to America abt. 1791.
DANIEL M. SHIELDS, s/o Isaac SHIELDS and Amy VAN CLEVE, was born 11 August 1817 Ohio; died 30 June 1863 Preble County, Ohio; and buried Dry Fork Cemetery, Preble County, Ohio.

DAVID SHIELDS was s/o Patrick Shields & #1 Mary Fogle. He married Elizabeth Kelly, and they had six children. Nothing more is known concerning David and his wife at this time.
