MARTHA SHIELDS, daughter of James SHIELDS & (2) Elizabeth HENSEL, was born 1834 in probably Preble County, Ohio; died 13 November 1852 probably Preble County, Ohio at at 18 years 6 months 22 days. She is buried at the Dry Fork Cemetery, West Manchester, Preble County, Ohio.

MARY2 SHIELDS, dau/o Daniel1 SHIELDS & Mary [--?--], was born Bet. 1775 - 1780 in Ireland; immigrated with her parent to America in 1791; sojourned in Pennsylvania; then moved with the family to Hamilton County and by 1794 was in Butler County, Ohio. Mary married (1) John SINKEY (died at age 41) and (2) George FREEMAN. She was the mother of seven SINKEY children: Jane, Daniel, James, Isabella, Charlotte, Elizabeth, & John. There was no known issue by George Freeman. She lived her adult life in Lemon Township, Butler County, Ohio where she probably died.

MARY ALICE SHIELDS, dau/o Patrick SHIELDS & Mary Jane BROWN, was born 20 March 1855 in Ohio; married abt. 1870 to Jacob GARBIG, died 26 June 1918. Jacob was born 31 July 1850 and died 03 September 1923. Both are buried at Abbottsville Cemetery, Van Buren Township, Darke County, Ohio. Children of Jacob & Mary Alice include:

MARY ANN "Polly"3 SHIELDS, dau/o Isaac2 SHIELDS (Daniel1 ) and Amy VAN CLEVE, was born 20 June 1812 in Ohio. She married 11 May 1848 Preble County, Ohio to Jonathan William DAVISSON as his 2nd wife. Mary Ann died 20 February 1894 in Lewisburg, Preble County, Ohio. She is buried at Dry Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, Preble County, Ohio. She is given as the mother of three children: Isabel, Martha, and Jonathan DAVISSON.

SHEPHERD, J.P. to Alfred TOWNSEND; died 06 October 1915. They were the parents of Sarah Ethel, Andrew J., William Henry, Ida Mae, Mary Bell, Isaac Edward, Josephine, Effaretta "Effie", George Alfred, and Martha Ford TOWNSEND.

MARY IMO7 SHIELDS was the third child and first daughter of Raymond Dale6 (Caleb5, Patrick4, Isaac3, Patrick2, Daniel1) Shields and Sarah Margaret Creager. Imo was born 1 April 1910 in Arcanum, Twin Township, Darke County, Ohio. She married Burton Earl "Whitey" Sullenberger.
