NELSON DONNELLAN3 SHIELDS, s/o Patrick2 SHIELDS (Daniel1& (2) Selina FREEMAN, was born 11 October 1839 in Preble County, Ohio. Nelson married 25 June 1863 Darke County, Ohio to (1) Nancy Ann WESTFALL. This marriage ended in divorce. They were the parents of one son, James H. Shields. Nelson then married 25 December 1867 in Franklin County, Ohio to (2) Sarah Isabella GATTON. They were the parents of Cora, Mary, and Frank. Nelson and Sarah resided the rest of their lives in Franklin County, Ohio. Nelson died in 1933.
