WILEY SHIELDS, son of William SHIELDS (1840-1917) and Anna "Ann" M. HATHAWAY (1850-about 1924), was born 20 August 1872 in Van Buren Township, Darke County, Ohio. He married 11 March 1897 Darke County, Ohio by J. W. Kilbourn, M.G. to Elizabeth "Lizzie" McNutt.

WILLIAM H.3 [perhaps Henry] SHIELDS, son of Patrick2 SHIELDS (Daniel1) & (1) Mary FOGLE; was born 10 October 1810 in Butler County, Ohio; married 1830 Preble Co., Ohio to (1) Nancy REX; married 1842 Preble County, Ohio to (2) Mrs. Eva/Eve Elizabeth (SNYDER) FORNSHELL; married 1856 Preble County, Ohio to (3) Elizabeth WEILAND. William H. died 21 March 1871 in Darke County, Ohio. His place of burial is unknown.

WILLIAM SHIELDS, s/o Isaac SHIELDS & Elizabeth RUST, was born either 09 or 12 November 1840 in Van Buren Township, Darke County, Ohio. He was married 27 June 1867 in Darke County, Ohio to Anna / Ann Maria HATHAWAY, dau/o William HATHAWAY and Lena(h) AMOLE by Mordecia FORD, Elder. They were the parents for 12 children, namely: Edward D., Della, Wiley, William, Deo, Lucy, Lewis, Lena C. Maude, Orpha, Jane "Jennie", Treva Elizabeth, Lavina.

WILLIAM BENIRIAH3 SHIELDS, [aka Beniriah, William B. and William V. in records], was son of Patrick2 SHIELDS (Daniel1) and his 2nd wife, Selina FREEMAN. Beniriah was born 22 June 1852 in Ohio. William V. (sic) (probably "B.") Shields married 20 May 1873 Darke County, Ohio to (1) Ella [Mary Ella] Hartle. They apparently divorced as she married a second time to Frederick Coppess of Darke County, Ohio as his 2nd wife. William B. Shields married 19 July 1879 in Fountain County, Indiana to (2) Louisa ELLIS, and they are found enumerated in the 1880 U. S. Federal Census of Fountain County, Indiana. As William B. Shields of Fountain County, Indiana, Beniriah signed a quit claim in Darke County, Ohio along with his then wife Louisa [--?--]. He was the father of Josie E. by Mary Ella. He is also said to have fathered by perhaps Louisa or unknown wife a son, Walter, and daughter, Mamie, who are said to have resided in Illinois.

WILLIAM "Bill" AMOS7 SHIELDS, s/o Carl D.6 Shields (John5, Abraham4, Isaac3, Patrick2, Daniel1) and Flora Augusta Schulz, was born east of Greenville, Darke County, Ohio. He married Phyllis Eileen FOREMAN. They are the parents of three children and reside in Columbus, Ohio.
Bill is also pictured with another cousin, Ronald C.7 LOXLEY (Georgia Katherine6 (Shields) Loxley, George Lawrence5, Isaac M.4 Jr., Isaac3, Patrick2, Daniel1 Shields) as they visit Abbottsville Cemetery, where many SHIELDS ancestors are buried.
