Hello Green(e) Researchers!
My first comment is this is a fantastic list. I am relatively new at
researching, and have just started my GREEN family research this summer.
I was fortunate enough to have information from my great aunt that had
her great grandfather's name. That was a lot of generations to get
started with!
The Henry Green that I am researching was born in 1799 in NC according to his Robertson County, TN census. I believe he lived in Robertson Co from ca 1820 to 1853 when he migrated to Jefferson County, IL
The known children of Henry and Elizabeth ? Green are:
*1. Paulus E. Uriah , b abt 1831 in TN, d. Dec 14, 1870 in Jefferson
Co., IL
2. Sarah E. b. 1832
3. Robert H. b. 1834
4. Frances b. 1835
5. David Alexander b. 1836
6. Albert E. b. 1839
I am sure there were more children, but I don't have proof of others yet.
Henry Green was last found on the 1860 Jefferson County census living with his daughter, Sarah C. Watts.
Paulus E. Uriah Green married Rhoda A Simmons, in TN.
Their children:
1. Susan b. abt 1853 in TN
2. James Clinton b. Dec 23, 1854 in IL d. Apr 14, 1920
3. William b. 1857
4. Rufus H. b. 1859
5. Charles E. b. 1861
6. David Eric b. 1863
7. John b. 1865; d 1938
8. Charlotte b. 1868
I am curious about the "Clinton" name. The 1850 Robertson County Census was signed by Clinton Green, Ass't Marshal.
Can anyone help me with this?
