Okay, I'm wading in, but it's getting pretty deep out there! Here is my husband's Greene Line, as far as I've been able to find it.
1. Wilson GREEN/E, born (?) / m. Sarah Jane FARR, born (?), daughter of (we think), Samuel Washington Farr, and Catharine Mason. They had at least two children, George, and Oscar Ellis.
2. Oscar Ellis GREENE, born Oct 4, 1880, Blackford Co., IN, - died Oct 11, 1944, Frankfort, IN m. Alta Olive HARTLEY, born Apr 12, 1893, Fairmount, Grant Co., IN, - died May 29, 1965, Frankfort, IN. They had 3 children, George William, Robert Ellis, and Martha Bess.
3. George William GREENE, born Mar 29, 1917, Marion Co., IN, - died Mar 4, 1997, Tipton Co., IN, / m. Nov 23, 1941, Violet Ernestine BOLTON, born Oct 31, 1918, Marion Co., IN, - died Sept 4, 1992, Tipton Co., IN. They had 2 children, George Alan, and Marcia Kay.
4. George Alan GREENE, born Dec 26, 1944, Denver, CO, / m. Aug 5, 1973, Etta Luvina MORGAN, born Aug 11, 1951, Columbus, OH. This is my husband and I, and we have 3 children, Nikki Suzanne, Robert Alan William, and Ryan Andrew Morgan.
My father-in-law once said his Green/e's may have come from Kentucky......
or Virginia....... or New York...... or at least somewhere on the east
coast.....but he was pretty sure that they were English....... or maybe
Irish.......or...! (sound familiar???)
