Samuel Greene

1794: About 1794 Samuel Green settled what was afterwards known as the Thomas Haynes place, which is now [1907] owned by Mrs. Leman Rowe. Curtis Green is said to have owned 400 acres around the old Green Street schoolhouse. Robert B. Davis, the latter's brother-in-law, lived near him, on land owned by Charles Terry.

1809: Received 32 acres of land in Rhode Island plus half of his father's wearing apparel from his father's will.

1810: Sold land in RI he had received from his father in a will; Samuel lived in Otego, Otsego County, NY at the time.

1975: No will nor LA in Cooperstown, NY

1976: "The next farm on the left side of the road is owned and occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Valentine. Very early occupants of this farm were Samuel Greene, Thomas Haynes and C. H. Greene. Others living here have been Leman Rowe, S. D. Haight (His name is on the 1900 Town of Otego Map.), Manley Safford, Lafayette Richardson, Albert Crandall, Harold Starr, Lynn March, Sr., Carl Greene and Harry Yager."
