St. Clair Mystery Page
Okay...here's the mystery St. Clairs and Craigs and Blansits.  Help me figure them out!  Not one of these has a name or date; there are a few in the group pictures who appear to be the same person.

I had thought these might be Andrew Jackson CRAIG and Nancy KERNS, but upon further research, I don't think so.  The picture of Mary Jane that Greg's grandfather identified as her?  Can't be her as the oldest daughter here.  Can it?  She looks to be the last young woman in the 2nd row of the picture below.  The boy would be the young man standing directly behind her.  Mary Jane is supposed to be the oldest surviving child.  It is not William St. CLAIR and Ailcey COOK.
(Go to Mary Jane and her husband's page)  This was scanned from the original.

Whoever it is in the top picture?  This appears to be them, years later.  The number and apparent ages of children fit Andrew Jackson CRAIG and Nancy KERNS.  The young woman sitting next to her father appears to be Mary Jane CRAIG, wife of John Waymon St. CLAIR.  And the picture below is the same young woman, looking to have been taken the same day.  The family above almost looks like the children of 2 different sets of parents--3 appearing to be dark, and the others light-complected with either blond or red hair.  Were there any red-headed St. CLAIRS?  This was a copy of an original.

This, upon close inspection of the picture of John St. CLAIR and Mary Jane CRAIG, looks to be a wedding picture, taken in 1891.  If it is them, some of Mary Jane's sisters weren't born or were too young to be the girls in the group picture above.  It could be Mary Jane's sister, Sarah, who married William SNAPP; but then the picture that Greg's grandfather identified as John and Mary Jane isn't John and Mary Jane.  This is a scan from the original.

The same woman from the 2 pictures immediately above appears to be the woman on the far left (on a crutch) here.  John Chambers BLANSIT and his wife, Maggie GILL COOK BLANSIT (see Blansit family pictures), are on the last row, far right (he's next to the tree, in the dark hat.  This copy has been "fixed" by someone; there is at least one boy, 2nd right from the woman on the left, whose head is not correctly positioned.  Greg thinks his great-grandpa Chester is blocked by the fake head.  The woman standing next to Maggie on the back row appears to be the same woman as 2nd from left, back row, in the group photo above.  In front of John BLANSIT appears to be the same older woman from the group shot above--but if that is Nancy KERNS above, she died before her husband, and he's not here.  Greg cannot identify any of the children as being his grandmother, Ines, or her brother or sister.  Mabel, Ines' mother, is not in this picture.
