Letters Home
We recently fond a bundle of letters from my uncle Charles Hugh Grimes to his parents from the last days
of World War 2 in the South Pacific Theater. Including first-hand eyewitness descriptions of
the Atomic testing at Bikini Atoll.
Note: Since these are considered historical documents, no attempt has been made
to correct spelling errors. Where letters were typed in all upper-case, this format has been preserved in transcription.
In some areas, original spelling has been noted with {sic}.
