families come from Arkansas, Indiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Nebraska, New
York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia and dates back
to 1895 in Kansas. We also
came from Austria, Ireland, Scotland, Hungary,
Germany, and England. Traditionally, the last name can tell a lot about
your heritage. The last name often
told where you came from and the class of your family. We haven’t kept that tradition; and so it isn’t
as easy to tell much about a person from their last name these days. |
Millen
Family
Our
research has only just begun. We continue to research our Genealogy
Information, which is not complete and may not be 100% accurate as yet. We
are currently trying to figure out who is in the photograph taken at Yale
University during the 1860s. I believe
it has to either be some of the Millen or possible the John Brown family. The Millen family has been very difficult
to trace. Because Mabel Millen married
our Frank Gaige Burwell, was divorced and then
married Fred Pettit. It was even more
difficult, because Frank's parents had also divorced, and the wife apparently
had to hide out and move from state to state with Frank or "Gaige" as he was sometimes noted in records. So, it
was hard finding these individuals. Our Ancestors came to America to find the
great promise of freedom. Our Millen Family Tree Jeremiah

“Two are
better off than one, because together they can work more effectively. If one of
them falls down, the other can help him up… Two people
can resist an attack that would defeat one person alone. A rope
made of three cords is hard to break.”
