The GUDGERS
&
The Civil War
The American Civil War, also known as The
War Between the States, or The War of Northern Aggression,
(depending on which side of the conflict your loyalties lie) affected our GUDGER
family. It appears the GUDGER clan
fought on the Confederate side, as the family was located primarily in NC and
GA at the time of the “unpleasantries.” A number of our GUDGERs made the
supreme sacrifice, some being captured by Union forces, while others saw the
war through to its conclusion, returning safely home to their family and
farms.
The following GUDGER men served the
Confederate Army during the Civil War.
Those who perished are highlighted in RED. This is their story…
The number in front of their name is their generation-individual
number, and is linked back to the generation page.
