The Les Guédry et Petitpas d'Asteur Library Project began in 2002 at the suggestion of a member who had difficulty finding genealogical books on the Guedry-Labine family at libraries. Our initial goal was to place a set of books on the Guedry-Labine family in five key genealogical libraries. The genealogical libraries initially chosen were the first five listed below.
Through the financial generosity of several of our members and that of the authors (all of whom either donated books or provided substantial discounts on the purchase price), Les Guidry d'Asteur has met its initial goal. We hope that these donations will aid our fellow researchers in learning about their Guedry and Labine roots and stimulate genealogical research.
During the past year several members have written and suggested additional libraries to which we should consider donating books. All of the suggested libraries are excellent and several are located in geographical areas with a high concentration of Guedry and Labine families - for example, the Québec and Ontario areas where many LaBines live today.
As funds become available, we plan to purchase additional books on the Guedry-Labine family and donate them to additional libraries. Several of the books are in very short supply. If you would like to make a monetary donation, please send it to the address below in the name of "Les Guédry et Petitpas d'Asteur, Inc."
If you would like to make a memorial donation in a family member's name, please note that and we will designate the book(s) donated as a memorial. In making the donations, we place an appropriate donation/memorial nameplate in each book.
