Most of the information here includes Gilbert/Guilbert. There are also information on other families that the Guilberts have married into. The direct surnames include Clark, Dietz, Jensen, Johnson, Leblanc, Mire, and Trahan.

Some families know a great deal about their roots; others know very little. This site is an attempt to record what I've learned about our family history. In these modern times, families tend to be scattered all over the country, if not the world. One of the goals of this web site is to help our family stay connected even though we live far apart.

On this page I'll provide a little information about who I am and what inspired me to do this research. Most of this information was obtained from talking to living relatives and from researching public records. In the course of doing this research, I have discovered that I have many more relatives than I ever thought possible!

This is a work in progress, so please contact me if you have any information that might help round out the picture.

Acknowledgments

Betty Pourciaux. 1939-1996. I would like to thank my aunt, Betty Trahan-Pourciaux. She taught me how to do genealogy research. I entered her pages of handwritten notes into the computer during her lifetime. She completed my mother's side of the family and helped me in the research of my father's side of the family. My aunt has now passed on and I am (again) trusted with her life's work to be passed on to future generations through the love of genealogy that she passed on to me. We miss you greatly!

Please pass this candle along in recognition of the lives that were lost on Sept. 11, 2001 and the acknowledgment that America will never forget this appalling atrocity. You can click on any of the above gifs for more on the tragedy.

Please sign my guestbook and let me know what you think of my site
