Thomas was bap 26 Dec 1798 in English Bicknor s/o Benjamin & Catherine. He was buried 7 May 1854 at Christchurch, Berry Hill age 56

Benjamin Gwilliam married Catherine Delaney 20 Nov 1792 at English Bicknor. They had 7 other children besides Thomas. Benjamin was buried 20 Jul 1834 at Christchurch, Berry Hill age 64.

FOREST OF DEAN

Esther's parents were Thomas Gwilliam & Eleanor Baglin (Her mother was Jane Jones)

She was buried 14 Mar 1878 at Christchurch, Berry Hill age 74.

but I'm afraid I don't have their marriage.

JOYFORD

Esther Gwilliam b 1849 Joyford Glos dau of Thomas Gwilliam and Ellen. Esther married Enoch Turner in 1873 and they had 3 children that have been traced. By 1901 she was a widow living with her son, Colin Turner, next door to her sister in law in Cinderford.

The Gwilliams of Joyford and English Bicknor (there seem to be two or three families there) were either agricultural labourers/farmers or as in thiscase, miners.

Sometime between 1881 and 1901 Esther's brother, Reuben moved with his family to the Rhonda (Ystradyfodwg). One of his sons became a hairdresser, the others miners. Brother Timotheaus stayed in West Dean as a miner and brought up his family there, but so far have been unable to find anything else out about Esther's other brother, Esau, or her 4 sisters.

Neither can I find anything more on their parents, Thomas 1799-1854 Joyford, and Ellen b abt 1808, or her aunts and uncles. Where did the family come from before Joyford? And what happened to Reuben's, Timotheaus' and Esther's children after 1901?
