When Roundup Was Young
Items taken from the files of The Roundup Record of 20 years ago

Three deaths in the space of about a week is the sad story of the tribulations of the Mast family of Lavina. On October 8, Sylvia Mast, the six-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mast, died of typhoid fever, at which time six other members of the family were sick with the same disease. Sunday October 9, three of the sick children were brought to this place where they were placed in the hospital for treatment. Thursday of last week the mother of the children died, and on Monday another one of the children died in the hospital here. The two children remaining in the hospital here are getting along nicely.
