Roaring River News: Wesley Reid [Reed] and Mr. Roller are doing nice work with their saw mill.

Mano News: Grant Aldridge and Miss Ona Holman spent Sunday with Floyd Easley and wife.

Mano News: George Dell has moved to J. A. Easley's farm.

Mano News: Kit and Pauline Varner of Washburn Prairie returned home Saturday after several days visit with their sister, Mrs. C. B. Stubblefield and family.

Pioneer News: Misses Effie Hutchens and Mary Stewart who are attending high school at Rocky Comfort spent Saturday and Sunday at home.

Pioneer News: The school children accompanied by their teacher Mrs. Harrington went picnicking on the creek Sunday afternoon. They report a pleasant time.

McDowell News: The body of Jim Stubblefield, a son of he late Edward Stubblefield, was buried by the side of his father and sister Saturday in the Stubblefield Cemetery amidst a number of relatives and friends. To the bereaved family and mother we extend our deepest sympathy.

Kings Prairie News: James Dorris has moved in C. C. Carter's house west of the store.

Dog Hollow News: Oliver Crane came home Wednesday night to attend the teacher's meeting.

Bethel News: J.D. Goodnight will lecture at this place the 4th Sunday night of November on "The Persecution of the Early Christians."

Shell Knob News: J. S. Cooper is in Oklahoma with his daughter, parolee, whose husband died two weeks ago.

Shell Knob News: Wm. Ledgerwood, C. B. Carr, F. A. James and Grant Wilkerson visited the latter's old home on Kings River last Monday.

Lone Elm News: Wesley Irby is spending a few days with his brother, Frank.

New Salem News: Mrs. M. L. Payne of Neosho but formerly of this place came in Wednesday to assist in caring for her daughter, Mrs. Crawford Brixey.

Washburn News: Mrs. Augusta Senter, accidentally got a fall Sunday at the Union Church. While being helped down the steps, she slid out of her invalid chair and broke her right limb just above the knee. Dr. Smith was immediately called and she is resting very comfortable today, Tuesday.

Washburn News: Roy Trowbridge and little daughter, Marion of Miami, Tex, came Sunday to attend the funeral of his brother, Harold.

Washburn News: D. W. Smith and family of Joplin visited his brother, Otto Smith and family from Wednesday till Saturday.

Washburn News: John Harold Trowbridge, 23 years of age, was found dead in his bed Thursday about one o'clock p.m. in Springfield. [Click here to read]

Samuel Black Dead: Samuel Black, one of the promising young men of Barry County died in Clark County, Okla., Oct 23, 1914, and was buried at Depu, Oklahoma, Oct 24. [Click here to read]

Enoch Trolinger of Wagoner, Okla., visited last week his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Trolinger at Jenkins, and brother, James, of this city.

Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Poe are in from Mesa, Wash., visiting Mrs. Poe's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Hailey, of Cato. They will visit relatives in Texas and New Mexico before returning home.

Tone Edens and Harris Hudson have returned from several weeks stay in Arkansas.

Mrs. Stapleton south of town, visited her daughter, Mrs. B. P. Northcutt at Seligman, last week.

Omah Hooten, daughter of Uriah Hooten, died Nov 2, after an illness of four weeks. [Click here to read]

Mrs. Eva Reedy and children of Cole Camp, Mo., who have been visiting Mrs. Reedy's parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Higganbotham, and brother, Chas., and family, left Wednesday for Carl Junction for a few days visit before returning home.

Washburn News: Reams McCormack lost his residence by fire Wednesday night of last week. The family were away from home and contents were burned. He carried insurance to the amount of $700.

Washburn News: Roy Trowbridge and daughter, Marion returned to their home at Miami, Tex., Thursday. They were accompanied by his mother, Mrs. Celia Trowbridge.

Washburn News: Sidney Montgomery and Gertie Hoog were married in Cassville Saturday. We wish them much happiness.

Washburn News: Mrs. E. C. DeGroff of Stone County is visiting her brother and sister, Robert and Martha Hickox.

Washburn News: Born to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hickox, Oct 28, a son.

Bethel News: On last Tuesday the voters of Mo. went to the polls and said by their ballot that their wives and sisters should not have the right to cast the ballot for their own protection.

Gunter News: Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Clark are at the beside of their son, Simon, who has typhoid fever.

Seligman News: C. W. Edens swore out a warrant charging George Frank with horse stealing. Frank was arrested and sent to Cassville Monday morning.

New Salem News: Presley Morris and family spent Sunday with their daughter, Mrs. Walter Pendergraft.

New Salem News: Sevier Roller and family spent Sunday with his brother Monroe and family at Wayne.

Arnhart News: Steve Harris and wife came home from Kentucky last week where they have been on a visit the past month.

Mineral Springs News: Mrs. McCoy and family of Cassville visited her mother, Mrs. Wm. Holiday, Sunday.

Cedar Bluff News: Harrison Truhitte who has been very low with typhoid fever is able to be up and we hope for his speedy recovery as he is to teach our school at Cedar Bluff.

Cedar Bluff News: We are sorry to hear of Ben Shipman having typhoid fever.

A Pioneer Citizen Dead: William S. Hilton of near Scholten, who has resided in this county since 1841, died Wednesday of last week after a long illness.  [Click here to read]

Wilson Lane, Fletcher Wormington and son, Chas. and S. P. McQueen of near Purdy were in Cassville Tuesday on their way home from a week's hunt in the eastern part of the county. They report good luck, getting a deer and plenty of squirrels.

Shell Knob News: Miss Ethel Greenstreet has typhoid fever.

Shell Knob News: Auseny Brock came down last Saturday from near Cassville to spend a week or more visiting friends and relatives here. He is one among the oldest citizens of Barry County coming from Tennessee here in 1851.

Washburn Prairie News: Dr. John Sparkman of Springdale, Ark., came in Sunday to visit his parents, Judge and Mrs. M. B. Sparkman.

Washburn Prairie News: Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Varner and Arlington Varner and baby, Wilma, of Granby have been visiting J. B.'s brother, W. M. Varner, at this place.

Pleasant Ridge News: Mr. and Mrs. John Ellis went to Gunter Saturday to see their daughter-in-law, Mrs. will Ellis, who has typhoid fever.

Pleasant Ridge News: Denver Inman and Miss Minnie Carpenter were married yesterday at the home of he bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gean Carpenter. Rev. Si. Crouch officiating. We wish them a happy life.

Pleasant Ridge News: S. L. Binion and son, Bernie, of near Aurora, visited on the Ridge part last week.

Flat Creek News: The infant babe of Mr. and Mrs. William Harris was buried at the Carney Cemetery Sunday, Nov 8. 

New Salem News: Miss Cora Skelton is able to be out again after three weeks illness of typhoid fever.

New Salem News: Miss Ethel Payne, accompanied by her brother-in-law, Crawford Brixey were Cassville visitors, Sunday.

New Salem News: Mr. and Mrs. Carthnel Henbest of Washburn visited Sunday at the latter's parents, Mr. and  Mrs. Robert Roller, of this place.

New Salem News: Misses Effie and Bonnie Roller and brothers, Claud and James, were shopping in Cassville Monday.

Seligman News: Mrs. Della Brummett and daughter are visiting in this locality also Mrs. Brummett's father, Edward Wieford. Mr. Wieford is one of Barry County's oldest settlers and everybody is glad to shake hands with Uncle Ed once more.

Wheaton News: E. W. Wyatt, Silas McQueen and Bob Overton left Thursday morning for White River on a hunting and fishing trip.

Washburn Prairie News: Chas. Hefley and family and Mrs. W. B. Roller and daughter, Maggie attended literary at Pasley Friday night.

Rock Creek News: Miss Vica Cooper who is teaching the East Fork school is at home sick with typhoid fever.

Rock Creek News: J. H. Aldridge and wife are visiting a daughter in Oklahoma.

Rock Creek News: Will Edie and son Levi, are drilling a well for Will Holman.

Union Valley News: The infant babe of A. O. Laney died Saturday. Interment was made Sunday at Concord Cemetery.

New Salem News: Mrs. Mary Pendergraft is spending a week with her sister, Mrs. Massa Bowman.

New Salem News: Mrs. Doss Collier of Doty Wash., came in Friday to spend the winter with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. V. Roller.

New Salem News: Mrs. Marinda Walden of White River is visiting relatives in this part.

New Salem News: Will Poe has purchased the saw mill of his father and has moved in the residence with Sam Fountain and will continue to saw at the same place.

Eagle Rock News: Uncle Skelton's daughter Mrs. Columbia Bare and one of her neighbors of Eureka Springs were visiting her parents and other relatives last week. [Research note: Mary Columbia (Skelton) Bare was married to Eldon M. Bare, and she was a daughter of Jasper Newton "Dock" Skelton and his wife Julia Ann Russell. She was a Haddock descendant through Zachariah.]

Butterfield News: We were sorry to hear of the death of Uncle Sam Woodard. He was one of Barry County's oldest pioneers. He will be greatly missed by his relatives, friends and neighbors.

Butterfield News: Lon McCracken arrived Monday from Texas. He is moving back to this home west of town. Lon says he'd rather plow in the rocks in Barry County as to carry a paddle to keep the mud off his plow.

Pleasant Ridge News: J. T. Black and wife visited their daughter, Mrs. Alva Haynes and family at Monett Sunday.

High Point News: J. H. McGuire is recovering from a broken collar bone and one or two broken ribs.

Roaring Spring News: E. C. Faulk caught a large wolf in a trap Wednesday which should e appreciated by the farmers very much.

Forest Grove News: Mrs. Jim Chapman of Minden, Mo., is visiting her parents, Rev. and Mrs. Ennes.

Forest Grove News: Clearance Cranford and wife have moved to Clever, Mo.

Flat Creek News: Lum Haynes of Cape Fair and Miss Susie Foster of Wolly Creek were married Thursday, Nov 11. We wish them much happiness through life.

Miss Elsie Ayre, teacher in the high school, will go to Springfield, tonight, Wednesday, to spend Thanksgiving holidays.

T. H. Sapp and family, northwest of town, expect to move soon to a farm near Scholten.

Marriage license was issued Friday to Ralph Roseberry and Miss Eula Smithson both of Exeter.

Mrs. Houstan [Houston] Bradley northeast of town passed peacefully away Thursday morning, Nov 19, 1914. Death was due to catarrh of the stomach. [Click here to read]
