Eleanor was the wife of John Montgomery. Some researchers think she might have been killed by bushwhackers. The New Site Church recorded that there were two women killed in the New Site area by bushwhachers. The Montgomery family moved to Barry Co., MO about 1839. John Montgomery served as a Justice of the Peace until his death in spring of 1847.

Monroe was the son of Mahala (Segrest) and William Montgomery, Sr. Monroe Montgomery's brother William Montgomery, Jr. was married to Julia Collins. Julia Collins was a sister Sarah (Collins) Haddock and they were the daughters of William and Elizabeth (Graham) Collins. Sarah Collins Haddock's, is thought to have been the first grave at Walnut Grove [New Site]. Joel, Sarah (Collins) Haddock's, infant son, came about the same time and he was buried about Jan or Feb of 1851. Monroe Montgomery may have been the third person who was buried at Walnut Grove [New Site] in 1851.

Feb 1893, Cassville Republican, Barry Co., MO: This news paper was torn and badly worn, some of the words were actually missing from the paper. Here is what was transcribed and is thought to read as to follow: Cassville Republican, Feb 1893, Capps Creek News Items stated that Friday night, Jan 20, the people in the vicinity of New Site were around by Fletcher Wormington, from Gunter's Creek, with the sad news that Wallace Montgomery's oldest boy, Orvil, had been killed by a straw stack falling on him. Mr. Wormington was on his way to Gunter Creek after ___ Montgomery, who was the barn when the accident happened. It appears that the children were playing under the edge of the straw when the stack started giving away and then the stack started to fall. For Orvil to get from under it the falling[?] straw struck him in the back and crushed him down, and kill him instantly. The frozen straw about three feet deep and had to be cut away with an ax before he could be got out. There was word ___ to have killed a horse, and was possible that he smothered to death as was reported. the remains were inferred in the Walnut Grove Cemetery, Sunday, Jan 22 at 9 am by Rev. James T. Brattin of Pierce City. Orvil was about 10 years old and an exceptionally good boy. Mr. Montgomery and family have sympathy of a large circle of friends at this time of bereavement.

She was buried at Walnut Grove Cemetery [New Site] on the 10th of Sept 1903. In 1870 on the Federal Census, McDowell Twp., of Barry Co., MO, George Mulkey was listed in the home of John and Mary (Evans) Mulkey in 1860, and was age 4. Geo & Mary married 29 May 1881 in Barry Co.

The services were at the Christian Church at 2:00 PM. Mary Jane was the daughter of John Wesley Prevoe and his wife Jane Greer. Mary Jane married James M. His mother, Susan, was the second wife of Charles Haddock, Jr. The funeral home stated that Solomon Rumbaugh's, funeral was on 29 Aug 1926. He died at Rochester, MN. The services were at New Site, at 2:30 PM., and his death was on the 26th of Aug 1926. The cause of his death was listed as sarcoma of the hand, and his occupation was a farmer and he was age 76 years.

The funeral home record has Pearl born in 1883. Ona Pearl had several brothers and sisters but she was the oldest sibling.

His parents were born in Prussia as was his wife Julia, age 44, and also her parents. They had a number of children, which included Julius; Bruno; Augusta; Anna; Theodore; Hellena; Elbert; August; Peter; and Andy. They lived in between the Renoski and Renas families. They came to the United States about 1877.

In 1880, on the Federal Census, Juliana's place of birth was given as Prussia.

Cecila Wormington was not quite grown when a group of bushwhackers, in a mad raid, came to her parents home to steal food and take things, such as supplies, took Celina's cherished new shoes. Celina lived to be 93 years old and according to descendants, never forgot the loss of her new shoes.
