Anna died in January 1895 in Pineville when her clothes caught fire as she was by the fireplace. There is an article in the McDonald County Republican dated 1-25-1895. It states her two little girls tried to help her. She had two little boys and a little girl, my grandma, Ida May Proctor Jones. Her brothers were Warren Christopher Columbus Proctor and John Wylie Proctor. My grandma, Ida May Proctor Jones, was married to Seba Allen Jones in McDonald County, MO on January 24, 1909. They had ten children, Bertie Alvin, Ola Pearl, Clyde William, Emma May, Melvin Leroy, Opal Nadine, Stella Warren, Vandella Rosemond, Treva Fern, and Norman Darrell Jones. Document: Oscar Haddock, 64 years old, of near Goodman, was instantly killed Tuesday, April 23, [1935] when he jumped from a moving truck near McNatt's Mill, 10 miles south of Neosho. With three neighbors in the truck he was en route to McNatt. According to two women who were standing in the rear of the truck, Haddock's hat blew off and saying, "there goes my hat," he walked to the end of the truck and jumped. According to Earl Arnold who was driving the truck it was going about 30 miles an hour. Haddock was thrown violently to the ground and suffered a broken neck and skull fracture. Surviving are his widow and five children, all at the home. Burial was in the Owsley [Union] Cemetery, Neosho Times, May 2, 1935. [Ref: From the Haddock family research files of Cheryl Wimpey]
