Carl Dennis Rogers of Barbourville, Knox Co., KY

Carl Dennis Rogers, died at age 69, and was of Barbourville, KY   Mr. Rogers was a son of the late Hugh and Martha Ray Rogers.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta Mills Rogers; three sons, Dennis Rogers and wife Joyce, Mark Rogers and wife Sandra and Kevin Rogers; one daughter, Debbie Lambert and husband Gary; six grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Jones and husband Larry and Opal Poindexter; his sisters-in-law, Lorene Townsley and husband Frank, Lois Penn and Linda Elam and husband Mike; his brothers-in-law, Lawrence Mills and wife Tracy, Edward Burton and wife Sue and Lee Mills and wife Debbie. Burial was in Nan-Riley Cemetery at Woollum.  
Services were conducted Friday, Nov. 19th in Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Dennis Chesnut and William Wolfe officiating.   Additional information: He was married to a Haddock descendant.

Nancy Gray of Knox Co., KY

The abstract of obituary for Nancy Gray, reads that she was age 92, of Corbin, passed away Friday, September 8, 2000 in the Baptist Regional Medical Center.  Funeral services were conducted Monday, Sept. 11, 2000, at 2 p.m. and burial followed in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Nancy Gray was born on November 25, 1907 in Dewitt to Clark and Mary Bargo Mills.  Additional information: She was a Haddock descendant.
Nancy was the wife of the late Calloway Gray, Sr. Survivors include two sons, Calloway Gray,Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Corbin, Charlie Gray and wife Ruth of Corbin; two daughters, Maxine DeLong and husband Charles of Marion, Ohio, Aline Hoffman of Marion, Ohio; one sister, Edna Smith of Flat Lick; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.  Additional information: Obituary was published in the Barbourville Mountain Advocate

 

Lee Roy Gray of Scalf, KY

Lee Roy Gray, 69, of Scalf, Kentucky was born on May 23, 1931 to the late James Gray and Pearlie Taylor Gray.   On October 15, 1948, he united in marriage to Wilma Mills.  
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Douglas Gray; a brother, Charles Gray; and a brother-in-law, Finley Baker.  
He was survived by his wife of over 51 years, Wilma Mills Gray of Scalf; his sons, Jerry Lee Gray and wife Betty of Dewitt, Donald R. "Doc" Gray and wife Helen of Barbourville, and Glen Gray and wife Carol of Berea; his daughters, Judy Bingham and husband Dean of Dewitt and Karen Campbell and husband Gary of Dewitt; his grandchildren, Jeffery Scott Gray and wife Donna, Donald Brent Gray, Denise Joyelle Gray, Ashlee Nicole Gray, Justin Bradlee Gray, Brett Dean Bingham, Megan Dawnelle Gray, Alanna Grayce Campbell, Angela Mills; his great-grandchildren, Caitlin Gray, Holly Valentine and Macey Renee Gray; his sisters, Mattie Gray and Nannie Baker, all of Scalf; his brothers, Clyde Gray and wife Marie of Milford, Ohio and Delbert Gray and wife Geneva of Scalf.  
Lee Roy Gray was a retired saw mill operator.   Funeral services for Lee Roy Gray were conducted in the Dewitt Baptist Church, Friday, September 22, 2000 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Earl Hammons, the Rev. Robert Futrell and the Rev. Vernon Morris officiating.
Interment followed in the Gray Cemetery at Scalf. Pallbearers were grandsons, Jeffery S. Gray, Donald Brent Gray, Justin B. Gray, Brett Dean Bingham; dear friend, Gerald Bingham; nephews, Jimmy Gray, Terry Wayne Gray and J. L. Gray. Honorary pallbearers were, all members of the Men's Sunday School Class at the Dewitt Baptist Church and all of Mr. Gray's fox-hunting buddies.
Mr. Gray died Wednesday, September 20, 2000 in the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin. Additional information: He was a Haddock descendant and he married a Haddock descendant.
