Jean Baptiste (John)  Beaudry was born in St. Charles Sur Richelieu, Québec, Canada. Marie Euphrosine (Mary) was born in St. Matthias Sur Richelieu, Québec, Canada. Mary died in Benson, Rutland Co., VT while staying with her son, Charles, and his family. They are buried in the McCaughin Cemetery on McDougal Dr. which is near the original location of the Catholic Church in Ticonderoga, NY.

                                                (Sept. 17, 1811 part b)

They ran a small bakery and restaurant while they lived near Marieville Québec. They did their best business during the apple harvest for their home was then crowded with apple buyers all day and all night long. The buyers loved to gamble at cards, generally the game of Loo. Gambling went on all day and night on Sundays, except during religious services. Jean and Marie were prominent and devoted members of the Church. Jean and two sons, Charles and Louis, served in the choir. (From the notes of Richard D. Wormwood - he indicates the source for this is The Spiritual Struggle of a Roman Catholic, by Louis N. Beaudry).
