Jonathan Hoyt Leach* was born February 28, 1815 in Bakersfield, Franklin County, VT. His parents, Asa and Polly (Terill) had moved to Bakersfield,VT from New Fairfield, CT and are buried in the Egypt Cemetery in nearby Fairfield, VT.

Phylura Haskins was born December 22, 1823 (probably in Middletown Springs, VT). Both of Phylura's grandfathers, Richard Haskins and Roger Burr, fought in the American Revolution.

Family records indicate Jonathan and Phylura were married in Middletown, VT in 1839 before moving to Horicon, NY, where their 12 children were born.

Census records indicate Jonathan was a blacksmith and moved his family to Warren County, NY before the 1840 US Federal Census was taken. Jonathan and his young bride are listed in the 1840 US census in Warrensburg, Warren Co., NY (no children are indicated),

Census records indicate Phylura's parents, Orrin and Anna (Burr) Haskins, moved the family to Horicon, Warren County, NY from Middletown Springs a little before 1850.

Jonathan died January 12, 1876 and Phylura died September 5, 1892. Both are buried in the "Beaver Pond" Cemetery, Horicon, NY (better known as the North Brant Lake Cemetery).

            Hoyt and Josephine had 3 children. Hoyt and Maria had 6 children

    Calista L. Leach                January 19, 1849 - August 20, 1904 (Obit.)

            Family history indicates Calista was a nurse.

            Marietta and Byron had 8 children.

            James had 6 children with Alice and 1 with Mary.

       Phylura and George had 5 children.
