Patrick was born in Ireland. Margaret was born in Vermont. Patrick worked at the marble quarry in New Haven, VT (Addison Co., 1870). The family moved to Mineville, NY (Essex Co., circa 1874) where he worked in the graphite mines.

By 1900, most of the family had moved to Glens Falls, NY (Warren Co.,).
