Welcome to
Vicki's Vintage Vault I first became interested in my
family history in the early 1980's and have been researching my family
history since that time. I've made contact with lots of others researching
their family history and appreciate their willingness to share information
and between us, we’ve made some very interesting discoveries… ·
Who married a bigamist? ·
Who was imprisoned during the Spanish
Civil War? ·
Who signed the Ulster Covenant? ·
Who was killed after being run over
by a train? ·
Who was declared bankrupt? ·
Who died when he fell out of a
tree? ·
Who died in the Crimean War? ·
Which family lost several members on
the voyage to Australia? ·
Who are the convicts? ·
Who fought at Waterloo? Like many researching their family
history at one time I had hoped one day to put together a book however, as
family history is a never-ending hobby and new information often comes to
light and there has always been something else I want to find out, look up,
etc. A website seemed the best way to make information available to as many
people who are interested and also allows for updates to be made when
possible. While I was keen to include all known descendants, with the
exception of my immediate family, I have however chosen to exclude personal
details of living relatives to protect their privacy. You will find links below to My
Family Tree Charts and Surnames I am Researching. My Family Trees
are a series of family tree charts showing my ancestors for 5 generations,
which will allow you to visualise "where" people fit in. The
Surnames I am Researching page will take you to an index of the family
surnames that I am researching, where you will then find links to available
Descendant Reports. Each Descendant Report is also linked to other related
families. Although I started these
pages 5 years ago, time still hasn’t allowed me to prepare pages for each the
families I am researching, so in the interim, I have also uploaded my family
history to the RootsWeb WorldConnect site, which includes all my known
ancestors and their descendants. It does not include any historical research
other than names, dates and places. The stories will remain on this site and
I’d really appreciate anyone finding a connection making contact with me. In 1989 I completed the Diploma in
Family Historical Studies through the Society of Australian Genealogists. In
addition to a formal examination, this required the completion of an essay
and a thesis. I chose to complete the thesis on one of my paternal lines, the
Brimble family. A great deal of information
has since been uncovered and many new descendants discovered but I have kept the
content of the original thesis intact. |
