Descendants of Simon Holstead

This genealogy data is a compilation of over 20 years of researching, collecting, and exchanging of information on Simon Holstead and his descendants with the assistance of many of Simon descendants and other interested researchers.

Simon Holstead appears on the 1870 Virginia Census, Norfolk County, Washington Township. Later his family moved to Portsmouth. We suspect that Simon is connected to my Virginia Halstead line, but have not established a linkage yet.

The records of the early Halstead generations in Virginia are meager. Every attempt has been made to verify the names, dates, and locations of the family data. But the data is only a good as the sources cited. The surname of "Halstead" is used throughout this document, though several spelling variations were found, and are still in use today.

This continues to be a work in progress, Additions and corrections are welcomed.
