(Page 2) and be paid to my beloved wife Mary Hanks to and for her own use and benefit And I do hereby will and direct that all the monies so directed to be paid to my said children, shall be placed and combined out at Interest, by in the Names of my said Trustees, until the same shall become payable to them my said Children respectively as aforesaid, and that the Interest thereof from Time to Time as the same shall be received, shall be paid to my said Wife for and towards the support and maintenance of herself and my said Children And my Will is that upon the Sale or Sales of the aforesaid Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments the Receipt or Receipts of my said Trustees or the Survivor of them, or the Heirs or Assigns of such Survivors, for the Consideration or Purchase money, shall be good and effectual Discharges to the Purchasor or Purchasors of the same promises; and that such purchaser or purchasors after such receipt or receipts, shall not be obliged to see to the applications of the money by him her or them respectively paid, or be answerable to accountable for any Less, Misapplications or Non-application of such purchase Money or any part thereof Also I give and bequeath unto the said James Gethen and James Young (subject likewise to the payment of my Debts, and also to the payment of my Funeral Expenses, and the Costs and Charges of proving this my Will) All and singular my Goods, Chattels, Ready? Money, Stock in Trade, and all other my Personal Estate whatsoever, and make them joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament. In Trust nevertheless that they my said Trustee or the Survivors of them his Executors or Administrators, do and shall pay, divide, and dispose of my said personal Estate, unto and amongest all my said Children Share and Share alike, The Shares of my said two elder Children above named to go and be paid and delivered to them respectively as and when they shall severally attain the Age of Twenty one years; And the Shares of all my said other Children to go and be paid and delivered to them respectively as soon as the youngest of them for the Time being shall attain that Age But in Case of the Death of any or either of my said Children before their respective Shares of my said Personal Estate shall become payable or dividable unto and between them as aforesaid, by virtue of this my Will; Then I do hereby Will and direct that the Share or Shares of him her or them so dying shall (Page 3) go and be paid and delivered unto my said beloved Wife for her own use and Benefit And my will is and I do hereby direct that an Inventory and Valuation be made and taken of all my said Personal Estate as soon as may be after my Decease And that it shall and may be lawful to and for my said Trustees and the Survivor of them his Executors or Administrators to permit and suffor my said Wife to hold use and enjoy my said Personal Estate and every part thereof until the same shall so become payable or dividable unto and between my said Children respectively as aforsaid for the better support and Maintenance of herself and my said Children Provided always and it is my particular Desire and Request that they my said Trustees and the Survivor of them his Executors or Administrators do and shall from Time to Time carefully inspect into the state and condition of my said personal Estate, which my said Wife shall be so permitted to hold use and enjoy as a foresaid, as well to assist my said Wife, as also to see that the same be not diminished or Lessened in value by reason of her Mismanagement thereof And in case they shall at any Time find the same to be so diminished or lessened in value by any neglect or mismanagement of my said Wife, notwithstanding their care and vigilance to prevent the same, That then they my said Trustees or the Survivors of them his Executors or Administrators do and shall forthwith convert the whole of my said Personal Estate into money, and place out and continue the same at Interest, and the interest thereof from Time to Time as the same shall be received, do and shall pay unto my said Wife for the better support and maintenance of herself and my said Children, until such my said Personal Estate shall become payable unto or dividable between them my said Children respectively be virtue of this my Will Provided also and my Will is that it shall and may be lawful to and for my said Trustees and the Survivor of them his Executors or Administrators to lay our and expend any reasonable sum or sums of money in placing forth apprentice all or any of my # # sons, when they shall respectively arrive at a proper age, to such Trade or Business, Trades or Businesses, as they my said Trustees shall think fit; such sum or sums of money to be taken out of or deducted from the respective portion or portions of such sun or sons as shall be so placed forth apprentice as aforsaid Provided also and my Will further is that it shall and may be (Page 4) lawful to and for my said Executors and Trustees and the Survivor of them his Heirs Executors and Administrators form Time to Time to deduct and retain by and out of the monies and effects which by virtue of this my Will or any Trust herein declared shall come to their or any or either of their Hands all such costs charges damages and expenses as they or any or either of them shall or may pay sustain expend or be put unto in or about the executing or performing all or any of the Trusts aforesid, or otherwise by reason of this my Will, or any Trust herein declared, and that they shall be charged or chargeable each of them for and with his own respective receipts payments acts and wilful defaults only, and not otherwise, and shall not be charged or chargeable with any more money or effects than what shall actually and respectively come to his and their own Hands by virtue of this my will, nor with any loss or damage which may happen to the said Trust Estates and promises or any part thereof respectively without their respective wilful neglect or default In witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament contained in four sheets of paper set my Hand and Seal, to wit, my Hand to the three first sheets, and my Hand and Seal to this fourth and last sheet thereof, this Fifteenth Day of July in the Twenty fourth Year of the Reign of our sovereign Lord George the Third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth, And in the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven Hundred and Eighty four.

In the Name of God Amen. I William Hanks of Dursley in the County of Gloucester Cooper? do hereby revoke all wills codicils and other Testamentary Dispositions by me at any time heretofore made, and do Declare this to be my last Will and Testament. First, I will that all my just Debts and Funeral Expences be paid and discharged by my Executive herein after named: And Subject thereto and charged and chargeable therewith, I Give Devise and Bequeath unto my beloved Wife Mary, All and every my Freehold and Leasehold Messages Closes Lands Tenements Hereditaments? and promises with their and every of their appurtenances - - where so ever situate lying or being, whereof or wherein I shall at the time of my Death be seized or possessed of any Estate of Inheritance or for any Term or Terms of Life or years, or whereof or wherein any Person or Persons In Trust for me shall at the time of my death be so seized, whether in possession Reversion? Remainder or Expectancy, To hold the same unto and to the Use of her my said Wife Mary her Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns. And All the rest and residue of my Goods Chattels and Effects of what nature or kind soever I Give and Bequeath unto my said Wife Mary to and for her own absolute use and benefit. And I do hereby constitute and Appoint for my said Wife Mary sole Executrise of this my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I the said William Hanks have here unto set my Hand and Seal this Eighteenth Day of February in the thirty seventh year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord King George the Third and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety Seven
