Lizzie is the oldest of the two daughters of David Washington MONTGOMERY and Mary "Polly" Graves BRANDON (1837-1916). Lizzie never married. Her mother Polly is buried in Soldier's Circle in the Harriman City Cemetery, Harriman, Roane Co, TN. Lizzie's sister, Rachel MONTGOMERY (1868-1958) married - first - James F.M. MAJORS ( 1864-1895) and - second - Edwin H. KURTZ (1858-bet 1910 & 1920). Rachel is buried in Willard Park Cemetery, South Harriman, Roane Co, TN. She lies in a family plot near her son Mack MAJORS.

David Washington MONTGOMERY was the eleventh of thirteen children born to Allen MONTGOMERY and Susannah LARGENT of Cherokee Co, NC. Both he and Lizzie died of consumption (tuberculosis). Despite his headstone information about his date of death, he appears on Roane Co, TN's mortality schedule for 1880, and in the general population census schedule for 1880, his Polly is listed in Roane County as a widowed head of household.

A Joseph, Rachel BRANDON and Judah/ Judith BRANDON all appear in the 1860 Walker Co, GA household of Mary "Polly" (nee GRAVES) BRANDON, who was the mother of David's wife Polly. Judah/Judith may have been the mother of Rachel (b 1844). At this point, I do not know how they are related to my BRANDON line, but I am certain they are. Judah/Judith could easily have been Polly BRANDON's sister or her aunt. Further research is needed. If you have any information about BRANDONs who lived in northern Rhea Co, TN, please let me hear from you.
