On 15 March 1839, William M. Ellis married Lucy
Bowling in Roane County, Tennessee. This is a cropped, digitally
enhanced copy of their marriage certificate. The John BREEDLOVE on the certificate is likely
related to Monroe because Monroe's mother was Sarah "Sally" BREEDLOVE, daughter of Sarah "Sally" FLETCHER and Charles BREEDLOVE. We know that several Breedloves lived in the area at this time,
but I haven't independently researched my BREEDLOVE connections; and
so, right now, I'm not certain of all the relationships among them. Along with others from Roane County, John BREEDLOVE apparently took part, as did Monroe ELLIS and several BOWLINGs in the Cherokee Removal .
