Letters of several descendants of this line state that this Benjamin was a kinsmen of Pres. William Henry HARRISON.

This information on Benjamin Harrison and his descendants is taken from "Records of the Harrison Family of Brunswick County, Virginia, Georgia and Alabama," research by Miss Alberta Patterson and Mrs. George S. Foster 1956 through 1964. Other items are from Brunswick County Records and other sources. Benjamin Harrison and his family settled in the Southwest corner of Brunswick County, land running into Mecklenburg Co and Warren Co, N.C. their land was along Cock's Creek and its branches, Little Creek and Pole Creek (now called Poplar Creek). Many of his family left for Georgia and other Southern states. The sale of 1,835 acres of land on Cock's Creek by Martha Hicks and Benjamin Harrison, Jr., to Edward Brodnax, November 12, 1799, indicates their departure to Greene County, Georgia around 1801

1755: Benjamin Harrison of Lunenburg Co., Va., buys 117 acres land on Cock's Creek, Brunswick Co., VA.

1755: Brunswick Co., Deed Book 6. p. 4: Indenture 22 of December between Randal Bracey and Benjamin Harrison of Lunenburg County for 275 lbs., conveying 1117 acres on Cock's Creek, part of which was granted under a patent for 150 acres and conveyed from John Nipper to Bracy on March 4, 1742, 73 acres under a patent bearing date Sept 5, 1749, and also two other patents bearing date of 1755 for 314 acres each. wit: Thomas Twitty, William Lindsey, Silvanus Stokes, Jr., Robert Alexander. Presented in court, December 23, 1755.

1769, November 7, Deed Book 9, p. 563: Rueben Booth and wife Rebecca to Benjamin Harrison, Sr. 639 acres for 850 lbs. land in Mecklenburg and Brunswick Co., land whereon the said Booths now live lying along Dixon's and Cock's Creek. Ezells' line to Betty Hudsons last path to Cock's Creek. Land granted Wm. Tucker 1726 and part granted to George Booth 1727 and said land fell to John Booth. (This land willed to son Benjamin)

1779: Wm. Warrick to Benjamin Harrison, Sr. 850 acres land for 850 lbs. Land bordering Thomas Harrison, Benjamin Harrison, Sr., Benjamin Harrison, Jr., Benjamin Walker, Joseph Harmetti, Wm. Warrick, Thomas Bracy, Grieff Harvel. Land on Pole Creek (Pole Creek is a branch of Cock's Creek). This land bought from Reuben Booth and Wm. Warrick is the land Benjamin Harrison, Sr. willed 1790 to his two sons Benjamin and Thomas.

1784: Benjamin Harrison of Brunswick Co. to his daughter Hannah Reese of Prince George Co, gives her a slave. wit: James Harrison, Thomas Harrison 1786, Feb. 13, Deed Book 6, Pg 540, Mecklenburg Co., VA: Indenture between Wm. Claiborne and Frances his wife of City of Richmond and Benjamin Harrison, Jr., of the County of Brunswick. Wm. Black deceased, during his life conveyed unto Benjamin Harrison, Jr. (Dec 25, 1778) acres of land. Frances wife of Wm. Black was entitled to dower and had not relinquished same, now, she is wife of Wm. Claiborne, 100 lbs. now paid to Frances and Wm. Claiborne by Benjamin Harrison, Sr. wit: Robert Boyd, George Nicholson, Wm. Fouche, Thomas Harris, Dudley Clayton.

1789-90: Will of Benjamin Harrison; Deed Book 15 Brunswick Co, settlement of Benjamin Harrison, Sr., estate; Benjamin Harrison, James Harrison, John Hicks, John Cook, Mayhill Collier, Robert Hicks, John Barner, Hannah Reese, the children of Benjamin Harrison, late of Brunswick Co. Robert Hicks, John Lett Cook, John Hicks, Miles Collier, John Barner as those who married the daughters of Benjamin Harrison to comply with present interest and desire of our Father Benjamin Harrison, deceased, do voluntarily grant unto Lucy Barner, daughter of John Barner, one negro slave. (He willed a slave to his granddaughter.)

Feb 8, 1790 to Feb 27, 1792, Account of sale of Benjamin Harrison: Buyers; Theo. Harrison, John Barner, Myhill Collier, John Hicks, Lewis Hicks, Robert Hicks, James Harriss, Josiah Floyd, James Northington, Benjamin Harrison, James Harrison.

1799: Benjamin Harrison's will named his two sons as executors of his estate: Benjamin Jr. and James. James died ca. 1796. Deed Book 18, pg. 34, November 12, 1799, Brunswick Co.: Benjamin Harrison executor, surviving acting heir of Benjamin Harrison of Brunswick Co., Va., deceased, for $120.00 sells unto John Barner land lying between Little Creek and Pole Creek, branches of Cock's Creek, where it crosses Thomas Harrison's land on to Benjamin Harrison's corner, 380 acres. Signed Benjamin Harrison. Wit: Hamlin Hicks, Robert Harrison (Benjamin Harrison Sr's grandsons) [S965]
