Item 1

That I, Benjamin Harrison of Range Township, Madison County, Ohio, do here by devise and bequeath to my daughter, Mary E. Brown, during her natural lifetime and then to her heirs the following described tract of land known and designated on the plat as Lot No one in the subdivision of my lands.

Beginning at a large stone in the center of the road running from the Whiteoak pike to the Danville and Bloomingburg pike; thence S. 2 degrees W. 24.85 chains to a stone in the center of said road; thence S. 88 degrees E, 27.10 chains to a stone, corner to Peter Staub; thence S. 2 degrees W. 27.31 chains to a stone, corner to C. Wisler and in said Staub's west line; thence with a line of said Wisler, N 87 degrees W. 30.92 chains to a stone in the center of the above named road; thence N 14 degrees E. (with center of said road) 17.67 chains to a stone; thence with center of said road, N 2 degrees E. 3.37 ch. to a stone, corner to said Wisler; thence with five consecutive lines of said Wisler, N 87 and one-quarter degrees W. 23.98 ch. to a stone; N. 3 and one-half degrees E. 3.51 chains to a stone; N. 87 and one-half degrees W. 4.6 ch to a stone; N 2 and one-half degrees E. 27.27 chains to a stone; N 87 and one-half degrees W 8.10 chains to a stone; thence with a line of C. Wisler and Simon Wisler N 3 degrees E. 24.70 chains to a stone and southwest corner to tract no 2 of this division; thence S. 87 degrees E. 25 chains to a stone; thence S 66 degrees E. 19.46 chains to a stone in the center of the above named road; thence with the center of said road S. 25 degrees W. 18.58 chains to the beginning, containing Two Hundred and Fifty-six and ten one-hundredth acres in survey No ________.

Item No. 2

Lot No. 2, consisting of 202 73/100 acres is reserved during the lifetime of myself and wife for our own use and if not disposed of during that time, to be disposed of by my executors as herein after designated.

Item No. 3

I devise and bequeath to my son Batteal Harrison's heirs, subject to lifetime dower of his widow, Lydia E. (sic) Harrison, Lot No 3 of said subdivision; Beginning at a stone in center of road and northeast to corner to tract number two; thence with center of road N 25 degrees E. 33.05 chains to a stone and N. 30 degrees E. 32.65 chains to a point in center of road near where said intersects the Whiteoak pike; thence with center of said pike N 39 degrees W. passing northeast corner of Batteal Harrison's fifteen acre tract at 23.37 chains, 49.20 chains to a stone in center of said pike and southwest corner to Mary Kilgore; thence south 49 and one-half degrees W. 19.49 chains to a stone on south bank of creek (about four or 5 rods from edge of water); thence S. 3 degrees W. 30.49 ch to a stone; thence N 86 and one-half degrees W. 33.93 chains to a stone in a line of the McFarland land; thence with said line S. 3 degrees W. 23.46 chains to a stone, corner to Simon Wisler and also to tract No 2; thence with three consecutive lines of No 2. S 86 and one-half degreesE., 25.24 chains to a stone; S 3 and one-half degrees W. 17.66 chains and S. 66 degrees E. 31.55 chains to the beginning, containing three hundred and Eighty-nine (389 15/100) and fifteen one-hundredth acres in which is included the said Batteal Harrison's Fifteen acre tract.

Item No 4.

I devise and bequeath to my daughter, Isabelle Martin during her natural lifetime and then to her heirs, Lot No 4 of said subdivision; Beginning at a stone in the center of the Whiteoak Pike and southwest corner to Mary Kilgore's land; thence with the center of said pike N. 39 degrees W 45.15 chains to a stone in the center of said pike; thence N. 3 degrees E. 2.39 chains to a stone (now in McClintock's field); thence crossing said pike and running with the south line of N.P. Chenoweth's land, N. 86 degrees W. 22.50 chains to a stone in said line; thence S 3 degrees W. 48.23 chains to a stone in a line of the McFarland land; thence with two consecutive lines of said land S. 87 degrees E. 4.82 ch. to a stone and S. 3 degrees W. 31.77 chains to a stone in McFarland's line and corner to tract No. 3; thence with three consecutive lines of No 3, S. 86 and one-half degrees E. 33.93 chains to a stone; N. 3 degrees E. 30.49 chains to a stone near a large corn crib; N. 49 and one-quarter degrees E. 19.49 chains to the beginning containing Two Hundred and Ninety-seven (297 47/100) and forty-seven one-hundreths acres in survey no ______.

Item No. 5

I devise and bequeath to my daughter, Angeline Yates, during her natural lifetime and then to her heirs, Lot No 5 of this subdivision; Beginning at a stone in N.P. Chenoweth's south line and northwest corner to Lot number four; thence S. 3 degrees W. 48.23 chains to a stone in a line of the McFarland land; thence with said line N. 87 degrees W. 73.17 chains to a stone in the center of the Danville and Bloomingburg pike; thence with center of said pike N 20 and one-half degrees W. 8.91 chains to a point where the tracts intersects said pike; thence with the center of pike N 36 degrees W. 4.36 chains to a stone in said pike and corner to Solomon McClimans; thence with five consecutive lines of said McClimans N. 54 and one-quarter degrees E. 4.77 chains to a stone; thence S. 86 and one-quarter degrees E. 22.58 chains to a stone; thence N. 5 degrees E. 24.14 chains to a stone; thence N. 85 degrees W. 45.23 chains to a stone; thence S. 55 degrees W. 3.70 chains to a stone in the center of the afore said road; thence with the center of said pike N. 35 degrees W. 5.33 chains to a stone in center of said pike and corner to Martha Stroup; thence with said Stroups south line N. 54 and one-half degrees E. 12.61 chains to a stone corner to Joseph Leach; thence with said Leach's south line S. 86 degrees E. (passing N.P. Chenoweth's S.W. corner at 25.14 chains) 93.94 chains to the beginning, containing Three Hundred and thirty-nine (339 32/100) and thirty-two one-hundredth acres.

Item No. 6.

I devise and bequeath to my daughter, Winnie S. Farrar during her natural lifetime and then to her heirs the following described tract of land situated in Johnson County in the State of Missouri and bounded and described as follows:

All of the Southwest quarter of the northwest quarter (S.W and one-quarter of N.W and one-quarter) and the East half of the Southwest quarter (E and one-half of S.W and one-quarter) of section number Twenty Two {22} and the North three fourths of the Northwest quarter of the Southwest quarter (N three-quarters of N.W and one-quarter of S.W. and one-quarter) and the west three fourths of the South half of the Northwest quarter (W three-quarters of S. and one-half of N.W and one-quarter) and the North half of the Northwest quarter (N and one-half of N.W and one-quarter) of section number twenty-seven (27) and the East half of the Northeast quarter (E and one-half of N.E and one-quarter) and the Northeast quarter of the Southeast quarter (N.E. and one-quarter of S.E and one-quarter) of section number twenty-eight {28} all in Township number forty-six {46} north of Range number twenty-eight {28} west of the 5th P. M. containing Four Hundred and Nine {409} acres of land more or less, except one acre taken off the east side of the N.E and one-quarter of S.W and one-quarter of section twenty-two aforesaid.

Item No. 7

From the proceeds of the sale of Lot No 2, mentioned in item no 2 of this writing and all chattel, except household goods, after funeral expenses and all just debts are paid * devise and bequeath to Joseph Martin and his wife Isabelle the sum of Five Hundred ($500) dollars. The balance of said proceeds to be distributed as follows: Equally among the heirs of Mary E. Brown, the heirs of Batteal Harrison, including Daisy Harrison, widow of Alvah Harrison, the heirs of Isabelle Martin and the four daughters and two youngest sons of Angeline Yates.

Item No. 8

I hereby appoint David Beale and Benj. R. Harrison as Executors of this my last will and testament and direct and request that if any stock or grain are not matured or that the state of the markets will not justify the placing of the same upon the market, that they be allowed a sufficient time to make the best dispositions of said stock or grain.

Item No 9

I hereby revoke all former wills made by me.

Codicil to my will.

Know all men by the Presents, that whereas I, Benjamin Harrison, on the 15th day of September, A.D. 1898, made my will and testament; and now desiring to make certain changes and alterations therein, I do hereby make the following codicil thereto.

Item 1. I give and devise unto my daughter Isabelle Martin in fee simple; and unto her heirs and assigns the said real estate described in Item 4 of my said will and testament, being said parcel of two hundred and ninety seven and forty seven hundreth acres. (297 47/100)

Item 2. I hereby authorize and empower the executors of my said will, after the decease of my wife, to sell and convey by good and sufficient deeds of general warranty the said premises mentioned in Item 2. of my said will and testament, being the parcel of two hundred and two and seventy three hundredths acres (202 73/100), designated on a plat of the division of my lands in the counties of Madison and Fayette in the state of Ohio, to which plat reference is made for better locations and descriptions of said two hundred and two and 73/100 acres; and also of the several parcels described in my said will. Said plat was made by J. H. Asher, surveyor, and marked "Map of Land surveyed for Benjamin Harrison, May 20, 21 & 22 1892. J. H. Asher Surveyor."

In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name this sixth day of December A.D. 1899.

The foregoing codicil to the will of Benjamin Harrison was signed by him in our presence, and by us signed as witnesses in his presence and in the presence of each other the day and year above mentioned.

I, Benjamin Harrison make this codicil to my last will and testament which was dated _______, I cancel and revoke the devise, bequest or legacy therein to my grand-children, children of Joseph S. Martin and Isabelle Martin. I give, devise and bequeath to my daughter, Isabelle Martin, the share of my estates that I by my will gave to my aforesaid grand-children in addition to what I gave her in my original will.

In all other respects I confirm my will. Witness my hand this 4 day of Jan. A.D. 1902

Samuel Aaron Salter of Neshoba County enlisted in the Confederate Service May 9, 1862. He is buried in Liberty Cemetery, Winston Co., MS

All of this family lived in Neshoba and Winston Counties, MS
