Welcome to Harry Wilson's Page!

I am a native North Carolinian, which makes me a Tar Heel. I am also a Tar Heel by education--a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill undergraduate and law schools. My wife Hallie and I live in eastern Wake County where we enjoy gardening, travel, genealogy, and the pleasure of country living. (For non-natives, the cardinal is our state bird.)

Several years ago we had a pond built and it provides a constant source of enjoyment for fishing, relaxing, or observing wildlife. Over the years I have been building and erecting wood duck nesting boxes, and each winter and spring numerous pairs of "woodies" reward my efforts by nesting here. Click here to check out the wildlife.

Our family of cats allows us to share the house with them. They have claimed credit for the bumper sticker that reads "The more people I meet, the more I like my cat." They have never heard of Will Rogers and they refuse to listen when I try to tell them.

Gardening--whether flowers, fruits, or vegetables--presents unique challenges but also special rewards. Or at least the flowers do--Hallie looks after them. The other things have yet to learn how to thrive on neglect. Like to know more? Click here.

I am curious about my ancestors. Although I have never met most of them, I have at least come to know many of them. They are about what you might expect for a family--some very nice, some not as nice, but all making their own contributions to make me what I am today. Click here to meet them.

My work with the State Board of Education keeps me busy. (This is an actual photo of me at work!) To see what we are doing, click here.

Hallie and I enjoy reading. She especially enjoys murder mysteries and that gives me the willies for some reason. Personally, I prefer history.

We belong to Zebulon Baptist Church and really feel at home there (especially since we are both transplanted from elsewhere in the state). Click here to learn more about ZBC.
