My personal notes after this application:

Hanna E. Elkins , b 1841, d Jan 1910, Jackson Co., Ind. After Eli's death, she married Richard Collier. Buried at Bagwell Cemetery, with Joseph, as Hanna E.S. Collier.

William Elkins was (I believe, anyway) murdered in Washington Co., Ind. An old book found at a small library stated that two men were charged with his murder. No witnesses as to what happened. They were set free. I've never persued this to establish if it was my William Elkins.
