HENRY R. NESTOSS resides about
four miles northeast from Wilbur upon a fine estate that he has acquired
through purchase and to the improvement and cultivation of which he has
devoted himself since 1890. Mr. Nestoss is to be classed with the
prosperous and well to do farmers of Lincoln county.
Henry Nestoss was born in Norway, in 1854,
being the son of Reginald and Sheldahl Nestoss, natives of Norway.
As soon as he had arrived at the years for training in study he commenced
studying in the public schools of Norway and continued in the same until
twenty years of age, spending portions of each year in assisting his father
in addition. When twenty years old, Mr. Nestoss determined to try
his fortune in the New World and accordingly came to Iowa. Three
years were spent there in laboring on the farm for wages, then he came
to North Dakota where he farmed for thirteen years, having taken a homestead
when he first came there. In 1890, he sold this property and came
west to the more salubrious climate of central Washington, and after due
search and investigation decided to purchase the land where he now lives
and since that time his home has been here.
In 1887, Mr. Nestoss married Miss Lena Olson,
and to them have been born three children, Mabel, Oscar and Emma.
