MEMORIAL FOR

RANDALL LOYD BARRETT

I continue to grieve for my son-in-law who was a good, loving son to me. A big tease himself, he loved to tease me and I loved him for it. Most of all, I loved him because he loved my daughter.

Randall Loyd Barrett, 31, of Paris, Texas, formerly of Simms, Texas, died Tuesday, October 22, 2002, from injuries suffered in a truck-tractor accident in Arkansas.

Mr. Barrett was born Aug 16, 1971, in Mount Pleasant, Texas. He was a truck driver for Hill Grain, Inc. and a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Simms. He received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior when he was a child and was beginning to become active in a local church. I could not help but notice that when his wife looked in his bag she found his Bible. Melody and Randall were married only three years. They were deeply in love and treasured one another.

Survivors include his wife, Melody Dingman Barrett of Paris, one son, Cody, one daughter, Morgan, his parents, Wayne and Sue Barrett, of Simms, and Robert and Lucille Teel of Longview; his brother, Larry and Paulette Barrett of Henderson, two nephews, Daniel and Logan Barrett; his grandparents, Mary Proctor of DeKalb and Helen Barrett of Simms; his mother-in-law Jean Dingman of Paris and his father-in-law Wayne Dingman of Paris; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Randall was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Lee Barrett and Mr. Proctor.

Visitation was at 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. There were an abundance of friends, relatives and flowers.

Services were at 1 p.m. Saturday at Wards Creek Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev Boyce English officiating. Burial was in Wards Creek Cemetery at Simms, under the direction of Bates-Rolf Funeral Home, New Boston, Texas.

The family was at either of the homes of Wayne Barrett or Helen Barrett in Simms at other times. There was an abundance of flowers, food and friends.

Already I miss Randall. Melody's heart is broken and I hurt as my daughter hurts.
