Will of Joseph Hendry of Tennessee

I , JOSEPH HENDRY, do this day make my last will and testament and revoking all former wills and testaments do by this will and bequeath as follows, to wit:

1st-I will that my beloved wife have one bay mare, one cow, two heifers, two beds and bedding, ten head of sheep and eight head of hogs and the lower end of the farm up as the new meadow fence strate, a crop all potatoes, cabbage, dry fruit, one plough and gears and side saddle, three bee stands, 75 bushels of corn, ten bushels of wheat, the hay that is in the mow next the big road to hold as long as she lives or remains a widow.

2nd- I will one gray filly to my daughter SERENE, my other daughters, ELIZA Photo , LUCY, and ANGELINE to made even with the rest, before a further divide among all my children and my son WILLIAM'S children and my son EDWARD'S children and daughter SARAH'S children except her son HENRY BROWN, he is to have nothing: those grandchildren is to have their father's and mother's share of my estate and after the death of my wife all that she now holds by my will shall then be equally divided among all my children. The upper end of the farm to be rented out, all the grain and hay on the farm and three large hogs I will to my three daughters-SERENE, ELIZA and LUCY for their support and all my parsable and personal property to be sold at publick sale to the highest bidder.

I do hereby make ordain constitute and appoint A.I. CORRELL and my son, JOHN E. HENDRY, executors of this my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I, JOSEPH HENDRY, the testator, have to this my will written on one sheet of paper set my hand and seal this 11th day of October, 1864.
