Amos Wood, Sr. and Margaret Wiley were natives of Virginia. They migrated to Ohio where 
they started their family. Six of their eight children were born in Ohio. Sometime between 
1838 and 1842 they moved on to Illinois and settled in Lexington Township.   

Amos, Jr., the second son, married Phebe Downey (daughter of John Benjamin Downey and 
Elizabeth Haner) and were one of the first families to move to the new town of Colfax in 
Martin Twp. They started a boarding house and raised their five children, John, Margaret, 
Daniel, Isaac and Allen.

                Phebe Downey, daughter of John Benjamin Downey and Elizabeth Haner, May 09, 
                1852 in McLean Co., IL.
	iii.	John Wood, born Abt. 1835 in Ohio.  He married Eleanor Parker June 22, 
                1854 in McLean Co.,IL.
	iv.	Sarah J Wood, born Abt. 1836 in Ohio.
	v.	Abraham Wood, born Abt. 1838 in Ohio.
	vi.	George Wood, born Abt. 1838 in Ohio.  
	vii.	Margaret Ann Wood, born Abt. 1842.  She married John Jackson Paul January 
                27, 1860 in McLean Co., IL.
	viii.	Eli Wood, born Abt. 1844.

3.  Amos Wood , Jr. was born May 18, 1832 in Ohio, and died August 24, 1888.  He married 
Phebe Downey May 09, 1852 in McLean Co., IL.

                Humboldt Co., CA. He married Mary Jane Hutchens November 16, 1886 in 
                Eureka, CA.
	ii.	Margaret Elizabeth Wood, born Abt. 1858; died 1903.  She married John 
                Franklin Wright January 20, 1878 in McLean Co., IL.
	iii.	Daniel A. Wood, born March 17, 1860; died Aft. May 01, 1920.  He married  
                Elizabeth Green September 24, 1889 in McLean Co., IL.
	iv.	Isaac B. Wood, born Abt. 1863; died October 1930.  He married Ellen Susan 
                Outlaw March 23, 1888 in McLean Co., IL.
	v.	Allen Joe Wood, born March 23, 1870 in Lexington, McLean Co., IL; died 
                March 09, 1930 in Colfax, McLean Co., IL.  He married Mina Frances Henline 
                March 02, 1893 in Bloomington, McLean Co., IL.
