The following list of post office patrons was consolidated from three sources, where the servicing post office was specified as Potosi, Illinois in the mid-to-late 1870s. This list is not to be construed as complete, but rather a “snapshot” in time. The sources are the 1874 Atlas of McLean County, pages xiv and xix; the 1878 Livingston County History by LeBaron, pages 790-793, biographical section, and pages 861-862, a list of tax payers in Belle Prairie Twp.; and the 1879 McLean County History by LeBaron, pages 1056-1060, biographical section.
