1. Nathaniel Hickman, parents unknown, was born in England about 1600. He died approximately 1655 in Virginia.
He married Avis Unknown in England, 1628. Avis, parents unknown, was born in England about 1602. She was the plaintiff in a court case in Northumberland County, Virginia, 1655 and again in 1656. Avis was again the plaintiff in a court case in Northumberland County, Virginia, November 5, 1668.
Nathaniel Hickman and Avis Unknown had the following children:
2. Nathaniel Hickman, born approximately 1629, died in England in infancy.
5. Diana/Dinah Hickman was born in England. She married twice. She married William Lyndsay in Virginia. she married Thomas Barrett in Virginia.
Diana/Dinah was a plantiff in a court case in Northumberland County, Virginia, 1655, again on June 13, 1663 and a third time about 1666. Diana/Dinah bought property in Northumberland County, Virginia, May 1, 1668. Diana/Dinah married a William Lyndsey and then ran away with a Thomas Barrett "considered a loose fellow in the neighborhood, and was said to have married him in Rappahannock. (January 1666...and a later entry "Thos. Aged 29 yrs or th-abts. Says about 5 yrs ago Tho Barrett enticed Diana Lyndsay wife of Wm. Lindsay to runaway or forsake her husband which he "woth both and eye and eare witnesse of seeings them on their Journey towards Rappahannock." That Barrett did jugling tricks that people said could not be done without aid of the Devil. No exact date of this deposition but recorded jan. 1666/7." This was in the Co. of Northumberland.
