October 16th, 1839
This Indenture made the 16th day of October in the year of our Lord 1839,
between Robert Hill of the county of Mason in the State of Kentucky, of
the one part, and the Rev. Benjamin Hill, William Hill, Lindsey Hill,
Gustavus Dillon and John Adamson, Trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church,
called "Salem" of the county and State aforesaid, of the other part Witnesses:
that the said Robert Hill, and in consideration of promoting the Christian
Religion in the Church aforesaid, hath given, granted, conveyed and thus
presents forth give, grant, convey and affirm unto them the said Benjamin Hill,
William Hill, Lindsey Hill, Gustavus Dillon and John Adamson, Trustees of
aforesaid, and thus successors in offices perpetually for the benefit and behoof
of the said Church called Salem, all that contains to or parallel of land,
on which said Church called Salem, erected, situate, lying and being in the County
aforesaid, on the public highway leading from Germantown to Dennison's Mills
(on the North Fork) and bounded as follows, to wit: Beginning at a stone on the
eastern margin of this road corner to said Benjamin Hill, and ______ thence
by his line, South 68° East ten poles and seventeen and a half links to
a stone, also corner to Benjamin Hill, thence North 22° East seven poles
and twelve links to a stone, thence North 68° West ten poles and
seventeen and a half links to a stone, and thence South 22° West seven poles and
twelve links to the beginning. Containing two rods.
To have and to hold to them the said trustees and their successors in office
forever, for the use aforesaid, the lot or piece of land as above described
and all and every of the appiutenances and hereditaments thereunto belonging or
in anywise appertaining, full and clear of and from the lot hinderence or
molestation of him the said Robert Hill by here and forever and to the ...
In testimony whereof he the said Robert Hill hath here unto let his hand and seal
the day and year above written.

State of Kentucky Mason County Sets Marshall Key clerk of the
court for the County aforesaid certify that this deed of conveyance from
Robert Hill to the Trustees of the Methodist Episcopal church "called Salem"
was this day produced in my office and acknowledged by the said Robert Hill to
be his act and deed for the purpose therein mentioned. And the same is
duly recorded in my said Office. Given under my hand this 16 October 1839. Marshall Key
