Daughter of
Jacob & Margaret Marshill
of Orange County and State abovesaid,
having Declared
their intentions of Marriage With each other Before several Monthly Meetings
of the people Called Quakers at Cane Creek in the
County of orange afforesaid and according to the good order
used amongst them they having
Consent of parents and parties Concerned their
said proposal of Marriage Was allowed By sd Meetings
Now these May Certifie Whom it May Concern that for the full
accomplishing their sd Intention this
seventh day of the tenth month in the year of our Lord
one thousand seven Hundred and Ninety they the sd
Jesse Hinshaw
and
Mary Marshill
appeared in a publick Meeting of the sd people at
Cane Creek abovesaid and the sd
Jesse Hinshaw
taking the sd
Mary Marshill
by the hand did in a Solemn Manner Openly Declare that he took
her the sd
Mary Marshill
to Be his Wife promising With Divine assistance
to Be unto her a true and faithfull husband until death
should seperate them or Words to that Effect and then
in the same assembly she the sd
Mary Marshill
did in Like Manner openly Declare that she took him the sd
Jesse Hinshaw
to Be her Husband promising With Divine assistance to Be Unto him a
true and faithfull Wife Untill Death should seperate them or words
to the same purpose and Moreover they the sd
Jesse Hinshaw
and
Mary Marshill
she according to the Custom of Marriage assuming the
Name of her Husband as a further Confirmation thereof did then and there
to these Presents set their hands
and We Whose Names are Underneath Subscribed being present at the solemnization of sd marriage have as witnesses subscribed our Names the day and year above Written Jesse Hinshaw
