This is the portion of the family history relating to Lucius Moman and Esther (Easter) Diane Truelove Webb. Moman Webb was born on 9-20-1870 and died 11-13-1907, the same year that his father William Jefferson Webb died (7-3-1907). He was born on 7-1-1822.
Easter Webb was born in 1875 and died in 1969.
Because of excellent research available through the efforts of Janie Alexander who utilized her own sources as well as the Moravian Records of North Carolina, some family history can be preserved involving other family members through the wife of Billy Webb (William Jefferson).
He married Antionette Maheli (Nettie) Reich (born 7-13-27 in Salem ie. Winston-Salem, NC and died on 8-19-1899. Both are buried in Clover Ridge Cemetery in Itawamba County.
Billy Webb's father was Hiram Webb whose wife was named Mary (Mary Rebecca Blalock). She could have been his second wife because there is recorded in Rutherford County, NC a marriage in 1814 between Hiram Webb and Sarah Holifield. Because of census reports it appears that Hiram had a daughter, Polly Webb Dawson, born about 1815 and Sueinda, born about 1816 or 1817. There is some dispute about whether William Jefferson was Hiram's first or second son as ie: John G. Webb, age 30 and Wm J., age 28. In the 1850 census of Itawamba County page 122, John G. Webb lived at dwelling 398; William J. at 399; Hiram J. (or this might be John Hiram) at dwelling 400 and Benj. Reich (William Jefferson Webb's father in law) at 401. A James E. Webb lived at dwelling 402. Note: John H. Paschal and his wife, Mary (Mary Rebecca Blalock Webb, widow of Hiram Webb) lived at dwelling 405. Rebecca Blalock Webb married John Paschal after Hiram was killed.
(*Note: I obtained some missing pieces that connected this information from Clifford Graham (mama's first cousin), who got it from an Arthur B. Thomas, a descendant of David Blalock Webb, a brother of William Jefferson. Thomas was an aging architect in Dallas, TX in 1960.)
According to Thomas, sons of Hiram Webb included William Jefferson (our ancestor, Grandma Miles' grandfather and for whom William Trice Miles was named), John G., David Blalock, Jacob, James E., Jackson and Samuel.
Hiram Webb was found in the 1820 census
in Tennessee and in the 1830 census in Marion County, Al. (Note: This
county joins Itawamba to the east and often people were confused on whether
they lived in Itawamba or Marion County, in Mississippi or Alabama).
The information said that Hiram Webb was accidentally killed in 1838 or 1839.
His widow was now found, according to one researcher, in Marion County, Al.
in 1840.
In February, 1991 the Itawamba County Historical Society publication listed a Mary Webb, who is probably Hiram's widow.
In the 1830 census there were three males (ages 0-5), three (5-10) and four other children of other ages. In 1830 Mary was 35 years old. In the 1840 census there was one person listed in the 40-49 year old range, which Mary would have been. Also, there were three children listed in ages 10-14 which would have coincided with the census of 10 years prior. There were three children listed in the 15-19 range.
It should be noted that Itawamba County was not formed until 1836. So the 1840 census would have been the first for the new county. (This concludes the background on the Webb Family prior to Moman and Easter Webb.)
They had five children and Moman died at the age of 37. Ozema (Grandma Miles) was only 11 when her father died. The youngest child, Elbie, was just a few months old.
Easter Truelove Webb was born 10-24-1878 and died 5-17-1969. She and Moman are buried in the Clover Ridge Cemetery.
Easter and Moman's children included Ellie (named for a cousin, Ellie Evans) Ozema Webb Miles (born 10-5-1897 and died 10-8-1974, who married Ira Matison Miles; Carlos Adron Webb (born 10-1899) married Trelbie Sims Webb; William Harvey Webb (born 7-20-1901) who married Pauline Smith Webb; James Moman (Jim) who married Cora Bell Miles Webb and Elbie Stone Webb (born 2-7-1907) who married Marie Hughes.
Ozema Ellie Webb
(md. Ira Matison Miles)
Ozema and Ira lived near Fulton their entire lives where
he farmed. They had five children together. She passed away in
1974, at the age of 77, and was buried in the Clay Community.
Carlos Arden Webb
(md. Trelbie Sims)
Carlos Arden and Trelbie lived just outside of Amory,
towards Hatley, on a small farm. They had three children together.
In about 1953, he died as a result of injuries he received in a farm
accident when a tractor turned over on him. He was about 53 years
old.
William Harvey Webb
(md. Pauline Smith)
William Harvey and Pauline lived around Fulton, where
they had three children together. He passed away in 1984, at the age
of 82.
James Moman Webb
(md. Cora Bell Miles)
James Moman and Cora married in 1932. They had
three sons. He was a farmer and raised broiler chickens. He passed
away in 1984, in Fairview. He was 78 years old.

J.M. Webb
FULTON - James Moman Webb, 78, died Tuesday morning at the Itawamba County Hospital. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Pine Grove Church of Christ.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Pine Grove Church of Christ with Minister James Bryant officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Senter Funeral Home is in charge of the arangments.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Cora B. Webb of Fulton; three sons, James Doyle Webb of Pearl, Moman Bean [sic] Webb of Irving, Texas, and Jimmy E. Webb of Fulton; two brothers, Harvey Webb of Red Bay, Ala., and Elbie Webb of Fulton; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Elbie Stone Webb
(md. Marie Hughes)
Elbie and Marie had two children together. They
lived in Itawamba County their whole lives. He passed away at the age
of 81 in 1988.

Webb
FULTON - Elbie Stone Webb, 81, died Friday at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was a member of Pine Grove Church of Christ and a retired farmer.
Services were held Sunday at the Pine Grove Church of Christ with Danny Dodd, Jimmy West and Dennis Dowdy officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangments.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Webb of Fulton; one son, Dalton Webb of Murphreesboro, Tenn.; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Webb, Doyle Webb, Dean Webb, Horace Webb, Loyell Webb, Bobby Hughes, Ted Hughes and Grady Miles.
