Family Stories
Here I will link to the many stories I have collected about each family and my immediate family, Halsey, May, Joyce and Harlene Kennedy. This will give me the opportunity to reminisce about the things I remember myself or heard about.
The first is the story of my grandmother, Anna Hunt's life, beginning when she was a small girl and ending, unfortunately, at her marriage to my grandfather, Harlan Phelps. This was written in two versions in composition books. I combined and lightly edited this story and call it Gammy's Story
Next are letters exchanged between Anna Hunt and Margaret Deland, author of a book entitled GOLDEN YESTERDAYS which recalls time she spent at the Inn in Grafton, Vermont where my grandfather was innkeeper. These are the Grafton Letters
Edith Beatrice Washburn Burns, my mother's second cousin and close friend, celebrated her 101st birthday in July of 2001. Her daughter, Jackie has shared her story with us at Edith's Story.
With the help of newly found Hunt relatives, I am getting more information about the Tracy Family. Gammy's mother was Mary Adeline Tracy. You can reach that page by clicking here. One of Mary Adeline's sisters was Alzora Edith Stiles. A story of her life written by Kaye and Fred Stiles is also available from this page.
My grandmother, Ella Martin Kennedy was a talented writer and a lover of words. She wrote a lovely letter to my parents on their wedding day which I will include here. Also two poems she wrote on the occasion of her and Grandpa Kennedy's 30th and 45th wedding anniversaries.
