Some years ago you kindly included my Perrin tree on your website. A lot of the early work on the tree was done remotely by a lady in the USA, Alfie Conner. A few years ago Alfie unfortunately died, and I have continued her work with considerable help from another Perrin Descendant, Perry Perrin. Over recent times we have uncovered a small, but significant, number of errors in the original tree. I think it would therefore be a good idea to remove my tree from your site and perhaps replace it with a statement along the lines "for more information on the Perrin family, please contact Terry West.

One significant discovery concerns the not unreasonable assumption that William Perrin "married" an Elizabeth Hockley around 1821 in the Little Canfield area and went on to father William Hockley Perrin. Both Perry and I are now convinced that William in fact married Elizabeth Silvester 17 Feb 1821 Takeley and that these were in fact William Hockley Perrin's parents (see attached)

That leaves the interesting question, what was the relationship between the Hockley and Silvester families?

Perhaps you, or one of your contributors, can provide an answer.

I am continuing to go through the local PR's searching for members of my family (I am currently tracking about 15 surnames) in the process I note any Hockleys that I come across. So far I have largely duplicated the villages on your lists. Recently I started on the parishes of Aythorpe and Abbotts Roding, I have found one Hockley so far, once I have finished I will send you an update.

Regards

Terry
