..........

Mr Charles Hogg being sick informed us the under subscribers that he wished his wife Winifred Hogg to keep his propery together, and take care of his son Jonathon W. Hogg, also if his wife should be delivered of a child within nine months for her and them to have an equal share of his property, and wished his children to be educated out of their own parts, if they will take it kindley as their share of property will afford and if any of the children's property remains when they come of age to be divided off to them.

April Hogg - My lineage goes like this:
Arther Hogg (ggrandfather)
Dawl Hogg (gggrandfather)
I do not know anymore than that and I'm looking for any information that is
out there. I have been told that the family started with a James Hogg that
came from Scotland and settled in Kentucky and Tennesse. But I can not
narrow it down to which James Hogg. There are alot of them listed.

Austin Rundall Clayton - I am desc. from Phoebe 'Phebe' 'Nancy' Hogg(e) and Augustine 'Austin' Clayton, Jr. He was from the area of Greenville & Spartanburg Counties (SC) c1800 before migrating to the area of Allen, Barren & Warren Counties in KY. Hogg families were nearby (in SC) but I have no idea if they were Phoebe's people. There is some indication that her people might have been in Grainger Co TN with my Claytons on their way to KY. It is also possible that her people were only in KY. Her marriage bond was in the name of Phebe - all of the family history which relates to her refers to her as Nancy. I would love to know if any of this sounds familiar to you.

Bill Garner - My 5th great grandparents are Joseph and Ann(Hogg)Denton. Ann's
father was Gideon Hogg. Gideon was born in Scotland and lived in Caswell
CO.,NC. at the time of the Revolution. He was a private in Colman's Company.
Gideon married Judith ? and ten children were born to this couple:
Ann,Mourning,John,William,Elizabeth,Thomas,Agnes,Gideon Jr.,Judith and
Rebecca. Gideon Sr. died on 17 July 1793 in Caswell NC.
Ann Hogg married Joseph Denton in 1765 in NC. Ann was born in 1745 and died
in Cumberland River section of TN./Ky.. Joseph and Ann(Hogg)Denton children
were:Martha,Agnes,Elizabeth,Susanna and Jeremiah Denton. I would like to
share information with anyone from this line. Bill Garner
Also I found a VERY OLD copy of James Hogg's book "The Mountain Bard" in an
antique store. It is a very small (about 4"x3"). I did not know of James at
the time but I wrote down his birth year. I checked in with the "Hogg Site"
and found he may be a relative. Could someone let me know if these books are
rare. I am sorry I did not record more information such as publisher etc.. I
did look for a copyright date but did not find it listed.

T.Med Hogg - Looking for Rene of Raney Hogg who we think arrived in Virginia about 1800. His son James Hogg or James R. Hogg 1812-1892 who may have been born in Virginia and we think died in Tennessee. If we can find information as to death and burial site we may be able to find information on his father, who is said to have come from Ireland.

James wife, Aurilla Hogg 1813=1888 is buried in Poplar Bluff, MO and we think James may have gone back to Tennessee to live with relatives and died there.

Betty Sissom Sachtleben - my great grandmother Sarah Gilgore (Gilmore) married Daniel S. Hogg (HOGUE) in Johnson Co. Illinois 5/18/1863. They went to TN where my grandmother Shirley HOGG was born September 08, 1871. I don't know how long they lived there but were back in IL by 1890 when she married my grandfather William Martin Sissom in Lick Creek, Illinois, Union Co. Daniel S. Hogg was born York Co. SC February 11, 1841

Becky Hale - I am pursuing to lines of HOGGS in Tennessee without much success. On my husband's side: Calvin Hogg (son of Pinktheman and Susan Hogg, who were married NC 1807) was born about 1820 in Weakley CO., TN. He married Eliza and produced Finis Ewing Hogg born about August 1856. Finis died in March of 1900 in IL. I am also pursuing a family legend on my side that James R. Hogg, who had been living in Poplar Bluffs, Butler Co., MO was visiting relatives in Tenn in 1892 when he died. Has anyone seen any of these folk?

Betty Hogue Ward - I am descendant of Wm Hoge & Barbara Hume. I have been for some time, researching my heritage, I feel like I have hit a brick wall, hope you might be able to turn me around. My Father was Rufus Joseph Hogue Sr. who married Altia mamie Cleckler, His father was Joseph Johnson Hogue, Mother was Lillie Ellen browder. My dad had 2 bros Luke and Mayo & 2 sis Venice & Oleana. I have been searching the internet and cannot find any of these names I have mentioned. Also, I am working with some research my uncle Luke had done, there is a big gap. Do you have any of these names & can you help me? I certainly would be happy to share any info I have. I am eager to get this straightened out and my family wishes I would speed it up. The Hoge/Hogues came over from Scotland in the 1600's then went to Pennsylvania (Pa), Virginia (VA) Tennessee (Tn) and Alabama (Al)
