This couple are cousins once removed.15. Anna YODERwas born on 10 Mar 1786 in Somerset Co, PA. She died on 18 Jun 1877 in Wayne County OH and was buried in Plank Cemetery, Wayne OH Portage Rd..Henry and Anna were cousins once removed. Their fathers were cousins.
Henry and Anna had Rebecca who married John Fordemwald in Wayne County OH. Rebecca was my great great grandmother. Henry had moved to
Wayne county and had lived there many years when he died in 1866.Here is what I am trying to research: Back in Somerset Co. PA, in 1810
there was a murder. The person who confessed to this murder years later
in Wayne County OH was a Henry Yoder who had come from Somerset county.
My Henry came from Somerset County. The Henry who had committed the
crime was in his early 20s. My Henry was 23 in 1810. The Henry who
committed the crime was over 70 years old when he confessed in 1860. My
Henry was 73 in 1860. So I am as certain as I can be that the man who
committed the crime was my Henry. All I need to be positive is the name
of the guilty party's wife. Then I will know for sure if it was my
Henry. I can't find another Henry Yoder in Wayne County who fits all the
facts, so I am sure it is my Henry...I just want that final piece of
evidence. The assistant clerk of courts in Wooster, Wayne County, has offered to
go into the old books that are in a room not open to the public, to see
if she can find the court book that might have a record of the hearing.
If his wife's name is in the records, then I will have my answer. She
suggested that his wife might have been present at the hearing. Nothing
was done about the whole mess since so much time had passed since the
murder and all the witnesses were either gone or too old to travel to PA
for any sort of trial. But there should be a record of the hearing that
made that decision. But those records may not exist any more.susie holderfield
