Obituary of Raymond Carl Holtz from the Niagara Gazette, Niagara Falls, NY, October 2, 1987:
"Raymond C. Holtz
Was 30-year Harrison employee
     APPLETON - Raymond C. Holtz, 72, 6552 Drake Settlement Road, Appleton, a longtime forklift operator at Harrison Radiator, died at Inter-Community Memorial Hospital in Newfane on Thursday (Oct. 1, 1987).
     A native of Hilton, N.Y., he was the son of the late Frank and Augusta (Koehn) Holtz.
     A World War II U.S. Army Air Force veteran, Holtz served in Burma and India.
     He had been a forklift operator with Harrison Radiator Division of General Motors Corp. for 30 years, retiring in January 1973.  He lived in Appleton for the past 40 years and before that lived in Lockport.
     He and his wife, Emily (Ferris) Holtz, were married Jan. 25, 1940, at the Lockport Trinity Lutheran Church.  He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ridgewood.
     In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Donald Holtz of Akron and Robert Holtz of Rochester;  daughters, Carolyn Newman of Hilton and Margaret Murray of Gasport;  and five grandchildren.  He was the brother of the late William F. Holtz.
     Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home, 6139 East Ave., Newfane."

     HOLTZ - Raymond C. of 6552 Drake Settlement Road, Appleton, entered into rest Thursday, Oct. 1, 1987.  Beloved husband of Emily (nee Ferris) Holtz; father of Donald (Linda) Holtz of Akron, Mrs. Todd (Carolyn) Newman of Hilton, Robert (Karen) Holtz of Rochester, Mrs. Richard (Margaret) Murray of Gasport; grandfather of Donna, Holly, Bridget, David and Katherine; brother of the late William F. Holtz.  Beginning Friday at 2 p.m., friends received at the Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home, 6139 East Ave., Newfane.  The family will be present Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Ridgewood with the Rev. David Wurster officiating.  Interment in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Immanuel Lutheran Church memorial fund or the Inter-Community Memorial Hospital development fund.

NEWFANE--William F. Holtz, 61, of 2621 William St., died unexpectedly Friday at his home.
     He was born in Irondequoit, N.Y. on Aug. 18, 1916, the son of Frank and Augusta Cohen Holtz.  He had served with the U. S. Army Field Artillery from 1941-45 during World War II, and earned the American Defensse Medal, the American Theater Campaign Medal and the Victory Medal.
     He was employed as a truck driver at Flintkote Co. until 1973, and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church at Ridgewood.
     Surviving are a brother, Raymond Holtz of Appleton, and several Nieces, Nephews and cousins.
     Beginning Sunday at 2 P.M., friends may call at the Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home, 6139 East Ave., Newfane, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
