1.  JAMES TATE4 SWIFT (WILLIAM PAINE3, ROMULUS SANDERS "PARSON"2, SWIFT1) was born September 07, 1858 in Henderson County, Tennessee, and died February 08, 1948 in Sacramento, California.  He married NANCY JANE HUGHES May 31, 1882 in Squire Ducks in Scotts Hill, TN.  She was born January 21, 1863 in Athens, Limestone Co., Alabama, and died December 03, 1936 in Portageville, MO.     

Children of JAMES SWIFT and NANCY HUGHES are:

                   i.       DORA FRANCES5 SWIFT, b. April 09, 1883; d. April 21, 1960, Sacramento, California; m. THOMAS MAX STOFFLE; b. December 23, 1871, Illinois; d. March 02, 1946, Sacramento, California.

                  ii.       MATTIE ETHEL SWIFT, b. November 19, 1885, Tennessee; d. December 09, 1952, Pinson, Madison Co., Tennessee; m. JAMES MALCOMB ALLEN; b. February 08, 1887, Hardin Co., TN; d. February 09, 1967, Pinson, Madison Co., Tennessee.

                 iii.       JACOB "JAKE" SWIFT, b. June 23, 1888; d. June 01, 1914.

                 iv.       MAUD SWIFT, b. July 17, 1890; d. July 17, 1890.

                  v.       CORA SWIFT, b. May 26, 1893; d. September 06, 1966.

                 vi.       MITTIE SWIFT, b. October 09, 1896.

                vii.       TILLIE SWIFT, b. January 09, 1900.

               viii.       GRADA BILL SWIFT, b. June 01, 1901; d. February 23, 1978, Wardell, Pemiscott County, Missouri; m. ?? WALLACE.
